Destiny 2 feels rushed

I would have rather bungie and Activision try to stick with the 10 year plan and add little and little Every now and then to this so d2 would have so many more players. The game just feels rushed they created more problems then they fixed and the pvp is terrible in my personal opinion and what happened to all the other planets they could have made it like galactic conquest for star wars battle front 2 where we would be taking back the planets like similar to plantside 2s faction system we could have all 3 fighting to take back the planets and 1 week the planet could be controlled by fwc and they would have to worry about the other 2 factions and they way the factions would take over is by defeating high value targets, crucible on that planet, and donating glimmer and other matetials and also the enemies of another alien race trying to take back their planet I would have much rather had that then lost sectors and these little side missions

  • "We finally came to realize we didn't need a 10 year or 10 week plan. We don't even have to try and players will buy this game in droves. We can take away your choices, recycle and repackage things forever, and you will still buy it. Enjoy." -- Bungie

    • Personally, it feels like Destiny 2 was built off a pre-alpha build of Destiny 1. When developing Any game you come up with different builds to see what works best. It just feels like they took one of those builds and built off it. The easiest option would have been to leave Destiny 1 there; in game and add to it, like Warframe does. Expand the game universe making it ever evolving. Such a simple concept yet how no one could see this within Bungie blows my mind. And even if they did, time constraints probably prevented them anyways. After all, 2 years is not a lot of time... That being said it just adds more weight to the point i made earlier where Destiny 2 was a pre-build of Destiny 1. All they had to do was change the cosmetics and voila, destiny 2...

      • To be fair, it WAS rushed. They started D2 development immediately after TTK, if i remember correctly.

        • The 10 year plan was for the series. Not a single game. Its a myth. The original contract was for 3 games over 10 years. But bungie was late in launching the first game which put everything else behind. I'm sure there have been a few amendments to the contract since then.

        • There was never a 10 year plan for a single game. That is some interweb rumor made popular. There is a 10 year publishing contract between Activision and Bungie for the Destiny franchise. Completely different.

          • They are following the Destiny 1 ideal, where they start out with like a forth of the content and letting the rest be DLC

            • No, it feels like it was made by people who never worked on, or played D1.

              • If you google or find it on the interweb, there was a report that Activision had an agreement with Bungie that if they tried to delay the release date in Sept(there was mention Bungie was considering the option to delay it sometimes in spring of 2017) then Bungie would lose or forfeit some of its ownership. Guess they released on time to just save themselves

Not so much rushed.....its actually sad that they have worked on it quite a while and had a prequel they could have learnt from....but failed to. Problem is they tried to reinvent the wheel ....while it was still square.....and then cut it into small little chunks of even lesser usefull pieces. Now the live team have to try to reassemble those chunks and beat the wheel until its round and able to move forward.

                • It's not rushed, it's called Minimal effort for Maximum Profit, literally every business is doing that nowadays even Supreme is doing that shit on another level by literally slapping on the logo on anything they can find (eg. Ordinary white shirt is $10, with a Supreme logo, it's $100-200)

                • It was. They have to release something 'big' every September due to the contract with Activision. This is why we got a greatly improved start of the game and not so much endgame. It will be fixed. Have hope ;)

                • The best reason I can think of to not have us go to old locations during the story is because Ghaul might anticipate us fleeing to one after the Tower fell. That being said, I see no reason why we don't get access to them after the story.

                    • The answer to your question is that technology changes. There’s no way to stay with the base game and still take advantage of technological advances. Periodically everything has to either be scrapped for new stuff or everything has to be rewritten to bring it up to date. I’m guessing that no one was going to pay hundreds of dollars to update D1 and then add on with D2. I can taste the salty tears that would have rained down if they’d done that.
