Instructions for claiming a refund [AMD Phenom Users]

This is a short instructional guide for getting your money back if you are unsatisfied with Bungie's response to the SSSE 4.1 issue plaguing AMD Phenom processor users. 1. Click the "BLIZZARD" logo in the upper left hand corner of the Blizzard app. This will open a drop down menu. 2. Select the "Support" item from the menu This will open a web page where you can either log in to the Blizzard support page, or if you are already logged in, you can move to the next step. 3. Select "Destiny 2" from the support menu. This will open up the Destiny 2 Support page. 4. Select "Payments" from the menu near the top of the page. This will open a drop down with the option "contact support" 5. Click "Contact support" You will see a link to request a refund here. 6. Click on "Request a Refund" This will open another menu. Here is where we click on: 7. Click on "Select a contact channel" There is a list. You will want to select this option: 8. Select "Live chat" Regardless of listed ETA this is always the fastest method to a refund from Blizzard. 9. Tell the chat representative that the game doesn't work with your computer, even though you meet the recommended specs. Don't lie. Don't over explain either. Simply tell them that the game doesn't work with your computer. If they ask for proof, link them to the threads in this forum regarding the issue. 10. If you are denied, ask them for a reason. While they do not officially have to give you one, if you can screen cap the reason why, you can post it to their twitter and create bad press. This will likely force their hand with an update at some point. Stay safe out there guardians, and remember, never pre-order games regardless of how good they look during beta. Edit: I have been told that this method will not work for those that purchased a boxed copy, or those that have purchased the game through a key reseller. If that applies to you, please contact your retailer regarding a refund. Edit2: There is apparently a fix in the works: https://twitter.com/ShockAndShaw/status/923705156549480448

      • I was so ready to Get into Bungie Gaming again, Missing my Halo Days. Now I just finished getting back my Refund and in all the Troubleshoot reading and Flames read on Reddit and other sources. I saw tons of Destiny 2 hopefuls giving up and them and friends going to game like Fortnight and Warframe, games I havent tried. Now I am trying both those games with my Destiny 2 Vacation time lol. damn shame! All the Best to future of Destiny Franchise.

        • Going to hijack my top comment here to post an addendum - Do NOT process a chargeback with your card carrier to get a refund. Going this route may result in your battle.net account being banned. Instead follow the posted guide if you purchased through battle.net or the Blizzard app - or if you purchased through another retailer follow up with them about a refund.

Just a reminder guys - Please be civil to Blizzard staff when contacting them, as they are just as confused and irritated over this issue as you are. Be kind, get kind.

            • Still, nothing new about a fix for Phenom II user's? That's very sad, since the game worked fine on the beta there's no way one could think that it wont run at the game launch. Since I cant afford a new CPU right now, and bought it from a retailer that wont refund me, theres nothing we can do except await from Bungie thar doesnt even give us an official detailed info, about why Phenom user were able to play the game at the beta, and it gets "below our stated minimum specs" at the launch, on this game that was the highest price I've paid for.

              • Unless you haven't seen this from Bungie: "We've seen a number of reports of crashes on CPUs that fall below our stated minimum specs (E.G. AMD Phenom II series). We are investigating the issue and will attempt to fix the crash, but these CPUs are below minimum spec and are not officially supported."

              • Hats off to Blizzard though, it's rare that I've had issues with their support since 2001... Bungie though, leaving a big mess for the Blizz team to clean up.

                • Thanks to this guide I had a real good chat with a battle net guy I got refunded via paypal (I paid via paypal) ; he said it would take 7-28 days to get my money back, but it is already on my paypal account. I can easily buy D2 again, when my probem ( AMD Phenom II X6 1090T ) is solved. Thx Blizzard

                  • the hell? this is NMS/Sean-Murray level BS. I even played the PC beta, just because I could and I wanted to see if I could do it using win7x64 and my phenomII 4x3.2ghz black edition and my R7 370 card. and it ran just fine, obvs at lower (but not minimal) settings. which means bungo(blizzard?) had not yet introduced use of the incompatible cpu instructions on the earlier build used for the beta. seriously, if you're going to basically mass-test your beta build on as wide a range of platforms as possible, the smart money is NOT on immediately altering/reducing what those platforms are. there is a ton of things they could have done / could still do, the obvious being: - made the code, gee, I dnno, identify the cpu except not to crash the game but rather to, gee, I dnno, switch to legacy/compatible cpu instructions? (or in the case of NMS, just dump the new code entirely and only re-ship compatible code to everyone) or - and, this wouldn't work given blizzards rabid anti-"cheat" behavior - but in the case of NMS the devs took quite some time to un-break the broken stuff (there was some GPU code issues in addition to the CPU extension issues) - and guess what? before the devs even had something working for themselves to test, the intarwebs provided someone coded fixes for both things and shipped the tiny patches off to the rest of us in the world. (even more hilarious, NMS only used the stupid SSSE instructions in the initial spaceflight-sim before the main menu, and possibly *in* the main menu - but pretty sure it was not used anywhere else in the actual game? I cannot even begin how to.) so, again, TF?!

If i bought a key from the private online shop is it still possible to get a refund? It actually makes no sense - what amount of money will they refund?
