Or whatever it says.
I have been having this problem connecting from certain places where I'm using a rural isp.
I load in. But it's like an instance, no one else there. My packet loss is fine. My connection up and down could be better but is good enough. No one streaming on the connection. No big downloads running.
But here's the kicker. I've tried to log in with friends. They see me running around the map. Can shoot me. Can push me around. But I see nothing. I can stand in the middle of a huge enemy movement dancing and see nothing. So clearly, while I am technically connected, even if I have some lag issues from it being a rural isp.. I am connected well enough for other people to see me....
Oh. And here's the kicker. I can log into destiny 1 fine. I can log into ESO fine. I can load into Mildlands and The Division fine. Which means what ever "my" problem is. It's a problem specific and exclusive to destiny 2... Meaning my problem... Is also your problem.
What did you do? Add some kind of net code to partition off people with weaker connections or something? This is frigging insane. I lost my last night I'll have to spend with my friends for a week trying to fix equipment that for all appearances is working fine so I could log into the game...
Seriously. What is going on here? Maybe I had lag issues of some kind........ You don't want to let me into pvp events fine... But patrol pve?

"Add some kind of net code to partition off people with weaker connections or something?" This is the perfect summary of what they did with this game. And it is was not well enough communicated upon release. The reason why they remain silent and just ignore these kind of topics. Best we can do is avoid their games in the future and spread the word. All this talk about using hybrid servers this time is crap. They lured us in. I will never buy a game relying on peer-to-peer structure again. Ever.
