Year 1 veteran signing out.

If you don't feel like reading the whole post the gist of what I'm saying is why destiny 1 was perfect, why destiny 2 is bad, and why I'll be leaving(unless bungie does something) Before I get into this topic I would like to thank you all for making the destiny(not 2) experience great. Without this community it wouldn't have been near as fun. I remember back in 2014 when I went over to a friends house and he was playing a game called destiny. He was playing as a titan and trying to get me to buy destiny and be one. I'll admit at first I wasn't into it. As he was playing destiny another person had jumped into the air and launched a big purple ball that created a huge explosion. Right after that I got the game and knew I wanted to be a voidwalker warlock. why Destiny 1 was great Overview:If anyone reading this post has played D1, they will know it had it's ups and downs. But never ever was it boring! Exotics were very very difficult to get, but when you got one you felt rewarded no matter what it was. Everything veteran can remember what their first exotic was. Countless hours put into that game... sometimes worth it and sometimes not. But that's what kept people playing. All the work was worth the reward. endgame:For all you new people there used to be a thing called bounties ( all you year 1 veterans will remember you actually had to go to the tower to turn them in), anyways they always kept things interesting, like grinding rise of iron bounties for the thorn quest, and sunrise bounties for icebreaker. There was just always something to be done, there was always more to do in destiny 1. Exotics: Now unless you just had all raid or trials gear you most likely used an exotic weapon. The awesome thing about exotics in destiny 1 was that whatever exotic you used changed your play style. It made you feel unique. If you had icebreaker you would hang back and snipe. If you had Zhalo supercell you would get in people's faces. If you had gjallarhorn then you played recklessly caused you were godly with that. If you had last word you felt like a gunslinging cowboy. My point is your character was unique in destiny 1. Classes:Subclasses were customizable for different builds. You could build your subclass for if you play solo, team, pve, pvp, etc. There was so much potential. why destiny 2 is bad Oh lord where do I start... Re-skins: this kinda of goes back to the customization. I'm gonna be blunt when it comes down to differences the only thing different between each weapon in the same group is the shader. Destiny 1 has loads of weapons you couldn't even fathom how many there were. Iron banner had there own unique weapons and anyone who never played iron banner could tell you what an iron banner weapon looked like. Now you can't tell the difference between iron banner and vanguard weapons Exotics: I think we can all agree they aren't powerful enough. Exotics are suppose to be these god like weapons and armor with insane powers. In destiny 2 there's an exotic that gives ammo to your secondary......and don't even get me started with armor intrinsics. Exotics need to be hard to earn but now between xur and RNG you can get easily 4 or 5 a week. Exotics need to be hard to get but worth the grind. Endgame: Easily destiny 2's biggest problem. What's the point of playing after you hit max level? ( besides giving bungie an interesting data point of course ) Power level does nothing and there no point in grinding since weapons are static. But it's ok guys we have fortnite ;) Static weapons: Do I really need to explain why this one is bad? It takes away every bit of grind in destiny 2. It practically makes it to where there's roughly 7 or 8 effective weapons for PVP and PVE. Honestly I think it will eventually get better but it will take a while. Thank you all for making my destiny experience great. This is the best gaming community out of everyone out there. You've all truly made it fun and special and who knows I may rejoin you all if bungie starts to clean up their acts. :)
