Stats that matter

The stats (Mobility, Resilience, Recovery) are crap. They need to be reworked so they matter. An idea I had that could be fleshed out more would be to tie them to in game performance. Mobility could improve ADS time and weapon swap speed as well as cut down time when using class abilities or throwing grenades. Resilience could cut down flinch when being shot and Recovery is the only stat that actually does something REALLY useful so it is in a good place. This could be more thought out I'm sure, but changes like this would help these stats actually matter. Secondary note- Can we please get random rolls for armor? There aren't any perks to chase just these 3 very basic stats, it's annoying to find a set that you like the way it looks but it doesn't fit the stats you want. I have the full DO and IB set for my Hunter but they leave my recovery at 3 with a mod. So I can either look the way I want but not have the stats I want or have the stats I want but be forced to wear something I don't want to. With the changes I mentioned above this would help with the problem of getting duplicate drops over and over. Maybe I have a well balanced build for everything on one set or maybe I have multiples of that set that allow me to switch armor pieces to tailor my build to the activity I am doing (PVP, Raid, NF, etc.) but keep the look I want. Just some random thoughts.

  • Mobility shouldnt be strafe/walking speed... it should be running speed as well. If you want to be fast and squishy so be it.

  • I don't mind the intrinsic perks on armors, I just feel like, especially after they said armor would dictate our stats not our class, the fact that hunters even when built for recovery are gonna have a fair amount of mobility, warlocks, will always have a fair amount of recovery even when mobility built, and titans will always have a healthy resilience stat even if built for mobility or recovery is the real problem behind the intrinsic perks. If my hunter survival armor made the stat that had the highest value Recovery instead of it being inherently mobility, maybe we'd have true freedom of stat builds. However I also feel that if we do this, recovery/resilience is all we will see. They need to make Mobility builds and Resilience builds viable in every form of play. It's just a so much better option to run as high Recovery as you can....

I agree! I can see if you want to have fixed weapon rolls to keep the game balanced or whatever, but there is absolutely no reason to have fixed intrinsic perks on armor. I love the way the Iron banner armor looks on my hunter but it puts me at a disadvantage for running a higher resilliance. I would like to run more raids but the armor for the Hunter is fixed with mobility and I have no use for mobility armor. If there were random intrinsic perks on armor or of I had the ability to modify the intrinsic perk there would be an actual use for 2/3 of the armor available to me. #bungie
