This Fixes Everything

So we can all agree that D2 has a lackluster “endgame” made far to easy in order to be more accessible to casuals, hell you don’t even need to touch “endgame” content such as the raid or trials to reach max power level. With that out of the way I can now get to my idea, its kinda an upgrade on an old D1 system suited to fit D2. Right now we have two level systems your exp. levels and your power levels, I propose we add a third and it would be to reintroduce light levels with a twist. Exp. Levels - Keep exp. levels the way they are. You gain these the same way you always have and all players should have gained enough exp. to reach 20 by the end of the campaign. Power Levels - If you played D1 during Y1 you will recall your defense score which is essentially power level, though now your weapons are also factored into the equation. As with exp. levels I think this should stay the same to give the average joe with only a few hours a week to play a number to chase. Light Levels - Okay now to the juicy part. Don’t get me wrong this idea is not revolutionary, Hell it was Bungies idea three years ago. However I think that you should be able to earn light levels through endgame content and ONLY endgame content. For example say the each piece of normal raid gear, weapons and armor, drop with one light level apiece so if you have a full set of normal mode armor you have a chance at eight light levels. And the hard mode set would have two light levels apiece allowing you to gain a total of sixteen light levels. As for the PvP endgame trials gear from the emissary would drop at one light apiece while flawless gear would drop at two light levels apiece. And the best part about this system is that it doesn’t effect average joe with a couple hours per week to play, it just goes to show status, it has no effect on dps or the damage you can take. It’s just there to show off your endgame accomplishments.
