Endgame idea

Heres an idea for a new game mode / endgame activity for d2: A wave-based-arena type of thing ... sounds familiar :D [b]Story[/b]: After the attack of ghaul the city is in bad condition ... especially the defensive systems (wall around the city or whatever). The enemies (most likely fallen) take advantage of this situation and attack these weakpoints. So the guy who is responsible for the cities defense (general xy or something) asks zavala to send some guardians (which usually make the pro shit outside the walls and not the direct defense) to support them so that they can rebuild these systems. The guardians should get them a time window as big as possible so that they can rebuild the defences without a horde of enemies around them. [b]Functionality[/b]: You can start "defense" from the director just like crucible. Probably fireteam of 3 maybe 6. You fight through an "unlimited" amount of enemy waves that are becoming stronger and stronger with each wave (probably just design 10-20 waves of enemies and after you've done with that it restarts but with a higher enemy level and/or more enemies of that type. Also the revival-cooldown could go up for each wave). After you've reached certain waves you get special rewards and some coins that can be used to purchase some vendor stuff. If you reached a wave (or some defined waves) several times you can start directly from that wave. Example: you've reached wave 20 5 times in a row you can start directly from that wave (So that very good players don't have to play these very easy waves). If you don't reach this level 5 times in a row you can't start anymore from there. In a fireteam the highest wave is choosen that all members have in common. Also there should be a list with weekly highscores and the teams with the highest waves get a special shader/emote or anything else. Cool would also be an emblem for every wave (or every 10nth or something) .. something with a number or military ranks. Also it could be possible to change the location and enemy types every week or add some bosses or special events at certain waves to keeps things fresh. [b]Loosing[/b]: Not sure how this should exactly work. Could be something like a part in the wall that can get damaged and if its destroyed you loose, could be something like only a certain amount of enemies may pass through the wall ... Easiest solution would be: if you complete fireteam is dead youre done. EDIT: You could add a vendor that lets you reroll your stuff for that defense coins ;)
