BUNGIE HAD 3 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT AND....

DESTINY had 3 years of development, and what's hard to comprehend is how BUNGIE has taken a ridiculous amount of content and features away in D2 which does NOT make sense. D1 was Bungies training course. D2 was supposed to be everything they have learned and then some. The strikes are not any better and other content is really not above par from D1. Don't get me wrong I love the game and I invest a good amount of time with it, but entirely too much was taken away, and the mistakes that we see already in D2 should have been learned from in D1. How the F could BUNGIE royally F up the meta in the Crucible??? After 3 years of tedious weapon balance and they F it up first time around with MIDA at every corner. Test players??? Beta??? Rant is over. I am more grateful than bitter over D2 , but some things that were left out just don't make sense to me. PS. I DELETED MY MIDA after a few days of using it. I didn't want to feel LIMITED by one gun that I had already used a lot in D1. In my humble opinion IT IS A CRUTCH for me and the vast majority that use it. They are comfortable with it and they haven't given other weapons a chance in D2. I think it was a stupid move to bring back weapons and armor from D1 but they did. D2 was a clean slate but it wasn't taken advantage of. If all else they could have reskinned the MIDA and called it something else Don't think there would be so much negativity if that was the case. Edit: been using SEVEN SIX FIVE SCOUT RIFLE w much success countering the mighty MIDA.

I didn't want to feel limited, I mean after all it's a crutch, it really makes getting food in your mouth too easy. So now I'm only using a knife, it's more challenging."

    • It's not even Destiny 1.5 to me. Its a regression. This feels like some broken thing altogether, compared to D1. I didn't start playing destiny until after the Taken King. So I missed out on a lot of the gripes that some of you day one players of vanilla Destiny had. But I can't imagine that this is that much better. Compared to everything we had at the end of D1's lifespan, this feels like a shell of a game. Hell, the foundation isn't even there. PVE feels roughly the same. But I'm already bored to death. I'm at 294 and I'm not even excited to get any higher. I mean, why? So I can do the raid? Then what? There's absolutely nothing to do already, and I've only been playing for a couple of weeks. The story that they claimed was going to be so huge that we as players would get sick of so much story, is about as nonexistent as it was in D1. And this "open world" they blabbered on about, and all these NPCs that we can meet along our way with quests and whatnot... All lip service. No random rolls on weapons or armor. So there goes any kind of hunt for anything interesting. Skill trees are elementary and boring. No customization whatsoever when it comes to how we want to play. Boring. And as far as PVP goes, it sucks. Sure, I got ice breakered, matadored, clever dragoned, grasped, and stickied just like everyone else in D1. Those were metas that most hated. But I played around it. I adapted. And I played with the weapons that I wanted. Weapons that i earned, and rolls that I lucked into and loved. And guess what? I had fun 99% of the time. Now with the bland offerings of weapons, limited supers, weak grenades, weak melees, and team shooting, the crucible is just as bland and boring as PVE is. I was so hyped about D2. So excited. I was hoping that the beta was just a slapped together demo to whet our appetites. Now I know better. I will forever miss D1 and I'll cherish all the hours that I put into it. It was probably the most enjoyable ongoing gaming experience I've ever had. It was my first foray into online multiplayer, and it really sucked me in. When it comes to D2, it just plain sucks compared to its predecessor. Here's hoping they can salvage this disgrace. There's no excuse for this game being this bad compared to where we left off.

          Oh yeah the game is great you have a solid 4 options of what you can do.. Crucible (aka lets hold hands with mida) Strikes (i just spent 35 minutes watching a guy die in his sparrow) And lets not forget the raid ( Doggo spotted me before i spawned in) Public events (Ive been zoning looking for at least a lv2 to help me with this event)

            The trouble with Destiny 2 is that there isn't anywhere near enough content in my humble opinion. Destiny 2 has improved on some things, but it has also taken some huge steps backwards. Improvements - The graphics are slightly better. The planets are better than D1, but Titan is tiny. Public events are much better, even though they have become tedious due to a sever lack of activities. The maps for each planet are a welcome addition, but we need on map markers for our Fire team. The campaign was better than D1 (which wasn't difficult), but still lacks things like fighting along side NCP's and more vehicle combat (the tank mission was short but fun and they did it better in Halo) Not having to go to orbit. The bad - No permanent factions (Dead Orbit, New Monarchy and Future War Cult). No vanguard bounties, that you could complete in any activity of your choice. Fixed weapon perks, which means much less variety. 5-6 strikes, D1 had 19-20. No strike specific loot. No Heroic strikes. No ability to choose which strike you want to play. No ability to play the campaign in full, unless you make a new character. We can no longer buy weapons from tower vendors. Horrible shader system. No kiosks for ships and sparrows. Bad vault design. Xur is pretty much useless now. Invisible walls and ceilings again. No synths. Bungie ruined sniping. 4v4 PvP. You can't choose what PvP game mode you want to play. Less PvP modes than D1. A raid with just 1 boss fight. Patrol beacons are now harder to spot, they used to flash a bright green light and as you approached them, a symbol would appear, now you practically have to be standing right next to them or get your ghost out. No horns on our sparrows. Horrible new weapon system that has 2 slots for basically the same weapons. Reskins already. No new enemy races. Nothing to replace The Prison Of Elders and similar activities. Hardly anything to spend your glimmer on, even though we can now hold a lot more glimmer now. Loot cap, meaning after Tuesday/Wednesday there really is no incentive to play. Jumping through hoops in the nightfall. Bland weapons compared to D1. The same dumb enemy AI as D1 (if they had improved the A1, the nightfall wouldn't need a timer). The bright engrams, designed to remind you about Micro transactions. I could go on and on, but I will cut to the chase. There isn't much to do in D2 which shouldn't be the case after 3 years of Destiny 1. The improvements they made in Destiny should have carried over into the sequel. They tried fixing a lot of things that really didn't need fixing and have ruined what was a very addictive game. A combination of all the things that players loved about Destiny and the good things I listed about D2 would have made an amazing game, but instead we're left with what feels like a very empty, boring shell of a game. I don't understand how Bungie thought that patrolling, 5-6 strikes, limited PvP and a 1 boss raid would keep us busy, when we're used to so much more? I'm not suggesting that everything I listed should've been available on day 1, but they sure as hell cut a lot considering this is a sequel, this game was supposed to be bigger and better. The people who are complaining are doing so because they want Destiny 2 to be the very best it can be, this won't happen unless we give Bungie feed back.                         • I wouldn't mind if they'd just give me something to work for. I like playing the game but when there's zero objective, I don't see the point. I've done my milestones on all 3 characters by Friday, I've played my 30 crucible games to artificially inflate bungie PvP numbers. Done the nightfall, done the raid. Just give me something to do, put a list of all the scannables in the game to collect, let me level up guns, let me pick strikes individually, where's the daily heroics? Bring back weekly heroics, make adventures worth it past level 20, give me bounties. I've got 3/4 of exotics and the game hasn't even been out a month. Make the raid meaningful, there's literally zero point in running it repeatedly. Just give me something, seriously. Games a bore atm but it's still fun to just shoot stuff.

                          • Last Weekend no one on my friends list was playing D2, not one. Even the clan was quiet. I ended up trying to find something to do and took to dismantling shaders I don't use and such. I pressed the "X" bottom approx 300 times... why a bulk dismantle isn't available for such things is beyond me. It's come to this, 3 characters in, zero playable content, plenty of quality of life issues, no reason to grind for anything as it will he junk anyway. The raid is a sad joke, nightfall is unbalanced...timers suck. PvP and strikes offer almost no options or variety. The beta continues...Sigh.

                            • They learned some lessons and did some things people asked for They're making at an attempt at LFG It's cheaper to upgrade gear if you're using equal or better gear No more insane god rolls Public events are actually useful now. Previously you only did them once per day for a chance at loot Larger zone maps (at least 2 of them anyway) 1hk shotguns are rare 1hk grenades are rare or don't exist. We can shade exotics and guns. Xur map in game They at least had a story written at a middle school level. As opposed to the butchered thing that looked like it was copy pasted by a kindergartener.

                              • Heres the deal. Stop comparing this game to D1. "Oh well, this story is so good" no its not. The story sucks but compared to D1 its miles ahead. "Oh well, this game has so much more content" Compared to year one D1 yeah I guess.. If your going to compare games the closest you have is borderlands 2. They took everything good for borderlands 1 and made an amazing sequel. Here in D2 they actually SCRAPPED featured from D1 that everyone liked, recycled assets, enemies, weapons and then slapped a 2 on it with a big ol fancy bow! The recycled content is so bad in fact im not entirely convinced that the EDZ wasnt developed back at the start of D1. Theres an old vidoc that shows a pan around the EDZ and it looks VERY similar. A game like this should have shipped with 3 raids and 3 unique story lines. I cant believe this is 3 years of waiting its sad really.

                                • Yeah,we know. Everyone is already starting to play less. The game is nowhere near as addictive as D1. I'm looking forward to the factions coming back, trying to get my third character to 20. But if something doesn't change soon I'll end up doing my weekly powerful gear milestones until I reach the cap,then only come back for Iron Banner.

                                  • Dont you understand how this works yet? They intend to release content like pvp game modes from D1 in paid dlc packs. This means more money for less work. Its all about corporate greed. Had they left everything as it was in d1, and focused on creating all new content for d2 it would have required more work and creativity.
