I personally love this game. I love how it is balanced, the time to kill is great, no class completely outshines another, teamwork is heavily rewarded, and gun skill is a major factor of play now. But I think one thing needs to be changed...
We need more options to play crucible how we want. Everyone else wants to be able to choose their game modes. I'm not too hung up on that but I think it would be nice. The thing that I can't stand and literally the only thing in this game that causes me to rage is the fact that when I want to play a casual game without a party and go off on my own I am completely worthless in the crucible.
Before you say "git gud" I got a flawless card then helped carry a friend flawless just because trials was fun last weekend. I'm not saying the competitive gameplay is bad. I think it's awesome when I'm in that mood. But when I want to just log on, play causally, be by myself and shoot people in the crucible, it isn't an option. Bungie, please just make an option for solo players that isn't so punishing to them for not being in a team. Maybe a rumble mode or a no party allowed 4v4 game type where people can do their own thing and not be punished for it.
Thanks for making an amazingly balanced crucible and a fun trials. Thanks for all of the content and this whole game! Please just consider something for the solo crucible people.
EDIT: Getting a lot of shadow down votes. I'm not bothered by this but just ask that people put their down vote reason in the comments. I want there to be dialogue about this. Preferably civil dialogue so that Bungie can get a realistic view of community feel about this issue.

Edited by mJORG77: 9/23/2017 1:50:12 AMi believe that ttk is too much, because of that 4 things happen 1. persicion is not rewarding 2. missing a shot is not as punishing, skillcap is low 3. team shooting is promoted because you have almost no chance a a 1v2 without the use of an ability 4.poor positioning is not punished since you more often than not can manage to run away ttk must be lowered by a lot for this to stop there are 2 factors that determine the winner in an fps multiplayer pvp game, individual ability and teamwork, those 2 must be balanced but right now teamwork is greately favored, while this is a good thing for competitive pvp it is bad for quickplay right now pvp feels very bad ,back in d1 y1 they started nerfing weapons left and right ,i warned people that we would reach his state of teamshootting qorcks at each other all weapons and abilities need a minimum +50% damage buff and we take it from there

Free lance would be good, I agree
-
You know, i find it really annoying when people say 'i cant enjoy crucible by myself' or 'i cant do my own thing because of full fireteams' You can, your mindset just doesnt allow you to. 😊
-
I think the reason for the current state of the crucible is that we're running on a new engine with different coding issues than D1. If D2 were the simple ROI type expansion that folks claim it to be, then we would have the options from D1 crucible. So let's just sit tight and wait. Yeah, I know it's sucks to keep getting supremacy, but let's be patient a little bit longer.

I miss rumble
-
Honestly bungie just make quickplay 6v6 and let us choose modes.....thats like %75 of crucibles problems right there
-
Competitive mode needs to be the best 3 out of 5 because that shit drags on way too long in that “search and destroy” mode. Also competitive mode seems to be the most fun of the pvp modes to me
-
1 change would be..... - Return to TTK PvP
-
It’s interesting because I typically do fine solo or with a group.. every now and then I get smashed but usually that team would’ve beat us even if we were in a team. It’s just a game . Play for fun and don’t take it so serious. You win some and you lose some
-
I understand Bungie wants this game to be team-shooting but is that all it can be? They know people want to play solo sometimes that's why they made the lone wolf playlist where you could not go in as a team. Along with this, there was rumble where you could test your own skill and not have to rely on others. All of this is gone in D2 and those were the crucible playlists I liked. I agree that there needs to be some strong consideration on the part of Bungie to add some solo friendly PVP modes.
-
LOL, you said gun skill
-
Wow was interested in your post for one sentence lol No one with a since of honestly can truthfully say the classes are equal in fact it's the exact opposite.
-
Honestly? Bring back the private matches system, make a "lone wolf" playlist, not unlike the one that existed in D1, and many complaints would be gone. It's that simple, literally.
-
No. Fail. I made an actually articulate thread about the state of pvp and it was buried by devs. Only stupid posts like this seem to stay trending, as to enforce the illusion that anybody who finds a modicum of fault in pvp is an idiot who complains without providing alternatives or solutions. Your post fails, the virgin mods fail, and this game fails.
-
Yeah, remove it from the game. Then maybe the game wouldn't suck.
-
It's too balanced. So much so that players won't even risk tipping the seesaw one way or the other. It's glorified '' Peeka boo.'' If peeking and picking is fun for you, so be it. That's subjective. As for myself no, low risk, low reward gameplay in pvp is stale. Players are not moving enough, because they don't have to. That is why you got my downvote.
-
TTK needs halfed to hide the lag. Get rid of trials.
-
Edited by BraddyBo: 9/23/2017 1:03:35 AMSure pvp is extremely "balanced" but at the cost of fun and skill based gun play. Team shoot every enemy, retreat from 90% of gun fights, set up defense at every power ammo spawn, completely stall gameplay to out-camp the enemy and cause enemy to initiate firefight. 1v1s rarely happen, winning a 1v2 is very hard and winning a 1v3 or 1v4 is next to impossible. Trials on survival will be absolutely horrendous due to timidity and camping. Countdown is fine due to attackers being pressured.

Rumble😄
-
teamwork is heavily rewarded
this is funny , what you mean with this ?? do you mean hiding in the corners on a room all down knees with rockets or sword ???? Crucible is 100% garbage
-
My main gripe is match time. It shouldn't be that long. Half the time of the match. Gets stale quick. I play one match and thats about it. Don't feel like trudging through another game.
-
here's my additional complaint. There's two matchmaking lists 'casual' and 'competitive' but no matter which I pick, it sure doesn't feel 'casual' at all. the only difference between the two is the game mode how about making the 'casual' list actually casual? maybe something like limiting fireteams to just 2? grouping lobbies by account playtime? turning off exotics? -I dunno, just some ideas, but there's got to be some way top make an actual 'casual' mode, right?
-
The matchmaking in quickplay needs a fix. There are only two playlist so there should be a huge pool of players to pick from. When I queue solo I constantly go up against a full fireteam that teamshots together. These games are extremely frustrating and not fun at all. I do quickplay to have fun just like I would do rift in D1 for fun. If I want a challenge I will get a team and play competitive or trials. There is no reason for 4 randoms to match up against a full fireteam. Since there are only two game modes to select the player base should be large enough to force fireteams to play against each other. And solo players to play against each other. Quickplay should be just that quick FUN play. It is more competitive then competitive and trials. Another option would be to make so that 'no fireteams' are allowed in quickplay. So if you want to run a team of four you have to play competitive.
-
ATM neither quickplay or competitive have SBMM. Cause comp has a bug preventing it. And quickplay is quickplay. Please change it to 6v6.
-
Isn't this a known issue? That in competitive mode solo players are getting crushed by an error in the skill based matching algorithm?
-
Not existing is the needed change.
