Did the nightfall on all three of my characters yesterday. Just wanted to chime in to say...I hate this boss too. With every fibre of my being, this boss is the absolute goddamn worst. Those shanks can go screw themselves, and so can Thaviks or whatever the hell his name is. I hope you find a group capable of making it through.

Whats a good loadout to use against him if you dont have roadrunner? Any help will be appreciated.

I don't know a whole lot about what loadouts to use and stuff. I just used a Scout Rifle kinetic, an SMG, and a Rocket Launcher for the boss.
