if you remove abilities destiny is a generic shooter. it takes way too long to charge your abilities. armor mods that reduce cooldowns should get a buff, or let us use them on any slot to stack 5 of them, or reduce base cooldowns across the board. it feels so shitty to only be using my gun and nothing else for a minute and a half, then throw my grenade that doesnt do that much damage anyway. only very specific builds can get their abilities back at a reasonable rate and you have to dedicate everything to it. such a shame.

It's basically just Bungie once again catering to the PvP crowd ay the expense of PvE players. I miss my Armamentatium Sunbreaker throwing 2 grenades every 12.5 seconds. Why they don't have separate cooldowns for PvE and PvP is beyond me. The mods barely do anything. It's why I wany Hallowfire Heart so badly. It cuts the cooldown time way down.
-
No they don't stfu. So tired of hearing people complain about abilities needing to recharge faster. USE YOUR WEAPON MEAT. Stop spamming abilities cause you have no gun skill. This isn't d1 get over it your probably trash anyway. Abilities are supposed to be spaced out. So noobs can't get cheap kills based on their class.
-
In PvE, I can agree. In PvP, nah. The low cooldowns are good if it means you aren't getting pelted with sticky grenades every few seconds. We really need a special Mayhem PvP list so people can grind Crucible and just mess around throwing space magic at each other.
-
Sorry, but i gotta disagree. I always have my abilities when I need them.
-
Uhm are we playing the same game
-
Are you still playing the beta?? Lol
-
Get mods then shutup

Edited by jamt1968: 9/20/2017 7:45:34 PMYeah Supers Take forever. And its f-in Destiny. You can fly, jump, shoot magic f-in arrows, throw magic f-in rocks. I mean sh-- if I wanted just a shooter Ill go play COD or something. Geeze.
-
They seem pretty good to me. The mods def make a substantial difference
-
Edited by The Dude: 9/20/2017 5:46:10 AMI don't find this to be true at all. I think the mods break the game... (Mods+exotics+abilities+perks)
-
let's say i want to make a build based around sentinel's ability to heal and shield allies on melee kills. with ability cooldowns the way they are, and there being no good exotics for charging your melee ability on sentinel, you really cant make a good cool aggressive support with sentinel. and bungie hyped sentinel up an aggressive support class.
-
No they don't take too long. They only feel long if you have no gun skill and lead every engagement with a nade or melee. Stop relying on crutches and use weapons.
-
Edited by Kone19ps: 9/21/2018 1:37:10 PMI'm ok with the melee and super rate but the grenade rate is infuriating
-
It's the biggest fun sucking factor about this game so far for sure. #2 would be the reward system.
-
That why I believe grenades should be fully charged when you spawn back in . Because I don't know how many times I would of win a gun fight if I had my grenade with me in battle.

For pve yes. For pvp its perfect. If i have an awesome match i get 2 supers. Its perfect as is. Guns come first. Its a fps.
-
You can, and should, slot all your armor with ability regen mods, You just need to get the different mods for the different peices, and it makes them pretty fast
-
While I agree with you, I do want to point out that one can "build" around ability cooldown with the "Paragon" mods for a specific subclass element in each armor slot. Combining these mods with an exotic armor piece that grants a cooldown effect like Crown of Tempests, Mask of the Silent One, or Orpheus Rig makes for an effective setup.
-
Also the more you stack the less effect they have
-
I must chime in on this because it's one of few things that bugs me. Perhaps they were increased to keep people from using them as a "crutch" (although it still takes skill to plant a Grenade in the right spot). Perhaps it was to prevent grenade spamming. Perhaps it's because the gun dev team begged them to force us to use them more. Regardless of whatever reason, the abilities are on what feels to be a far too long cooldown. Yes there are specific specs to assist in upping them, but not for every class. And the lack of ability to stack mods for a singular purpose adds to the frustration. Not asking for the old Voidwalker's every second grenade, or Sunsinger's fast-as-you-can-sling em, but a shorter base CD and/or greater Mod slot options would be awesome.

Put some mods on your armor, from what I've tested, legendaries and rares lower the cool down the same amount. Legendaries just add +5 light.
-
If u mod ur gear they regen faster. Learn to build.
-
There are these things called mods...
-
But but...didn't you hear? This is an old build. Bungie already addressed these issues... In the next dlc! 😬
