What's baffles me in the story is we, as guardians get our light back, but what about the vanguard leaders? They didn't touch a shard so are they impotent now? Lol

I find it funny how they try to play that card in the story telling. The only way to actually kill a Guardian would be to take away their light. I'm just amused that Guardians can't do anything without the Light. No grenades. No tanks. Nothing. Honestly, if our light gets shut off, we should just return to dust. That's supposed to be what's holding us together, ain't it? How the hell did we even survive the fall off Ghaul's ship? With the ability to get up and walk to boot? Destiny 2 had the opportunity to introduce a fourth subclass in the form of "Without Light". This class could've been a challenge class too. Actual, physical frag grenades or flash bangs that we can purchase with Glimmer. Nope... guess grenades can't exist without the gift of the light... WAIT! What did the Vanguard and Clans use against the Cabal!? Was that a regular frag grenade!? Yep... According to the Destiny 1 Grimoire that... vanished... Glimmer is a special type of meta-matter that can be coded to turn into any physical element and structure we desire, so it's not unreasonable. Destiny 2 has so many stupid plot holes...

Master Chief went into a coma after falling from orbit. Noble Six just sprained his ankle and walked it off. Guardians also get told to 'walk it off'.

My dissapointment is that you never witness this massive killing of lightless guardians. Part of what made reach for me was that you witneased the deaths of the spartans. this could have been something that made you feel hopeless and lost. However, you never see anyone actually die and you get your power back like almost instantly. No suspence at all.

Would have had a better delivery if: 1. A section had us having to sneak past a cabal firing squad shooting guardians (off scene because T for KIDDY). 2. A guardian crawls towards you before he stops moving. 3. Another ghost barely able to ask for help before going dim. 4. Random civilians screaming "please! help! where are the guar---BLAM---!" But guess not 🤷‍♂️

I think our guardian has a history with the traveller. He tells us where his shards are over countless other guardians. And spoiler for ending [spoiler]when you're about to be killed at the end he wakes up to save us. Awaking the darkness at the same time, but the cost of saving us is apparently worth it[/spoiler]

I'm still wondering just how in the blue hell, our guardian survived that fall from the flagship... I mean, we were 'lightless' at that point and we left a damned crater FFS where we hit... but yeah, I'm with you let's say the dead guardians were the ones who didn't return from D1.
