So it seems we've been a bit spoiled with the current earning rate of bright* (I can't fix the title...) engrams.
Apparently every time you level up the required amount of experience to earn the next one increases, seemingly without a cap to well over 100k xp required.
So to everyone who says "shaders being consumable doesn't matter, you don't need to buy them, you can earn bright engrams just from playing" that's true for now; but what about in a week or two when the earning rate of bright engrams slows to a trickle? When it takes hours upon hours to earn something that just gives you a chance at getting something you might like.
This is currently SEEMS TO BE a serious issue and needs to be addressed. It's a typical "first taste is free" practice of micro transaction-centric games and has no place in a full price AAA title.
Now, I won't jump down Bungie's throat right away; there may in fact be a cap. But if so I feel we should be told of what it might be.

I think this needs to be revisited. It's utter horse-shiit that the amount of exp required for a bright engram increases to the extent that it does.
-
i agree, and the amount of people that defend these kind of pratices is what surprises me... feels like they took them right out of a dope dealers manual, giving you the good stuff first for free and selling you shit after... not a good feeling and it really takes away from my enjoyment of a good game...

Who gives a shit. Just play the damn game
-
Actibungie is genius. No one noticed or brought up that it takes longer and longer to get one with no cap in sight until well after the game launched
-
Your right... I say bungie refunds all our money and they switch over to a pay per month subscription. Then they can give us free stuff all the time.. Face it, you can't expect to pay one time and play for 3 years. Microtransactions are helping keep the lights on and providing a steady income.

Except for shaders do not affect gameplay in the slightest. So

People seem to forget that Bungie is a commercial enterprise. It's one of their goals to make money, they're not in it for charity. Just be happy you can actually earn these Bright Engrams. Free stuff ;)

Your first 3 level ups after hitting level 20 were accelerated.
-
Noticed that today even with the 3x XP plus the normal boost XP. I had to do 8 heroic events to level up and every event was giving to me like 12K XP
-
I haven't noticed a slowdown. I'm still getting bright engrams like crazy.
