Took a while, but finally found a place far enough out of the City's regular patrol zones that they wouldn't bother searching for us here. Small place, run by some kind of mayor. Reminds me of an old ghost town, but all the ghosts are people. Or maybe all the people here [i]have[/i] ghosts. No, not like you, like memories. Yeah, I think I will fit in well here. What does Palamon mean, anyway? Story character? Falls in love with a princess while he and a friend are in prison? Then? Marries her after dueling his friend to the death. Heh. Almost sounds like James and me. 'Cept the princess is the one who dies. What's going to happen to me now, Shrimp? Now that she's gone? She...she was my [i]everything[/i]. She reminded me there was Light in me. Now...I'm worried the Darkness is going to return. I know she said it never left...but it sure felt beat. Looks like I have my ghosts too - other than you. He was a member of...of our fireteam. After her - after Twilight Gap, he got reckless, joined those Vex loons Kabr and Praedyth on Venus. After he came back alone, he wasn't reckless; he was broken. Built himself a gun to talk to. Preferred its company to other Guardians'. There's only one damn good reason he'd be [i]here[/i]. They told him to look for me. And he found me. Glanced across the bar and our eyes met, no way he could be mistaken. We'd recognize each other anywhere. I don't care if he's crazy! Even if the Vanguard didn't believed him, someone more trustworthy might, and then come here to corroborate. I couldn't let that happen. I followed him into a dark alley and gunned him down. You'd be surprised how quiet Thorn can be. Yeah, I had to plug his Ghost. He's...he's dead for good. ... You think I don't know that?! And when I'm so close, too! I know I am! I...I tried some of the spells on him. Who knows, might work better on a body more used resurrection than the stiffs in the cemetery. Hell, closest test subject to...you know... in all my time here. Monstrous? [i]Monstrous[/i]? You know what's monstrous?! Those - those [i]madmen[/i] in the Tower decided to turn Twilight Gap into a Crucible arena! Pahanin told me, before I - are you even listening to me?! The City has lost all respect for Guardians, and convinced the Guardians that their life is worthless! They're spilling Guardian blood over and over on the dried blood and ashes of our brothers and sisters! It's - it's [i]revolting[/i]! Blasphemous! Oh, it gets even worse than that. Pahanin was getting all chummy with that other Guardian at the bar...what's his name? Ward? Jarren Ward? Left him alone 'cause we didn't know each other. Besides, think he was here to take care of that stupid mayor, not me. Wouldn't be surprised if Pahanin got to talking about me, though. Bet he'll start looking for me after they find Pahanin's body. Can't let that happen. Not when I'm so close, I just need more time, and-- Shrimp? Find someone to look after Travis and Courtney. Then get my things. We're heading to Twilight Gap to teach the City some respect.
