Discuss all things Destiny.

Yesterday was one of the happiest days in Destiny for me!

Ever since one of the first trailers for Destiny I have been in love with a specific helmet. THE DUSTWALKER. Something about that sleek green visor just totally got my heart racing. It is the first helmet I bought from the game. The very first item I restored in power with etheric light, and the only piece of year one gear I still carry with me today, despite its lower light level. I cursed Bungie for making our old gear obsolete and not infusable after the final update. I even made a digital painting of it and entered it in the community challenge for artwork. (Link in the description) I still play Destiny daily and it just bummed me out that I could not use my favorite gear in the game anymore. But then a mircale! Yesterday I started a crucible match and as the game showed my team I saw it. The dustwalker helmet. One of my teammates was wearing it but was 400 light. WHAT?? I instantly messaged him how he got it up to 400 light. He explained it came from a vanguard engram available for purchase from the silver dust store. What? Those engrams give out old vanguard gear? After the match I went straight to the tower and saw 5 silver dust in my inventory. Just enough to buy one engram and hope for a miracle. I hold my A button and *PLUNGG* The dustwalker helmet infusable to year 3 levels!! Needless to say I lost my shit and am wearing my great Dustwalker again till Destiny 1 servers go offline. (Apparently I missed the info that these engrams decrypt into old gear. If you still want year 1 - 3 year gear change use your silver dust to get it!) Many thanks to the random player who took the time to explain how he got the helmet to me <3
