So Does Golden Gun Have the Same Armor/Damage Resistance as Other Supers or Not?

My friend was telling me a while ago that he got 1 hit killed out of his Golden gun by other super several times during the beta. For awhile I didn't believe him seeing as before the Beta people we're saying super can't 1 hit each other anymore (Except for Nova-Bomb but we didn't really know anything about Voidwalker back then). This made sense to me seeing as in D1 the reason why GG didn''t have Damage Resistance is because of it's ability to 1 hit supers at a distance both, quickly reliably and so since we can no longer 1-shot other supers in D2 we'd probably would probably have some Damage resistance to compensate for that. I believed this until earlier today. As you can see in the clip both of the Gunslingers got killed in 1-hit during thier super. Now, I'm not going to immediately jump to conclusions because I haven't tried much of Gunslinger and this is the only time I've ever gonna against Golden Gunners while I was using my Super. Instead I'm asking people who have used Gunslinger or have gone against Gunslinger while using their own super if they have had a similar experience or if this was just some mistake on my part.

  • It would make sense that it doesn't. GG might be weaker but it is still instant. It's balanced by being a glass cannon.

As far as I understand it arc strider and sentinel need 2 hits against most supers. Only exception being gunslinger. But let me go over each situation that I can think of from experience: Golden gun vs: ~arc strider...2 shots. ~sentinel...2 shots. ~dawnblade..1 shot. ~voidwalker..2 shots. ~striker...1 shot. ~gunslinger..1 shot. Arc strider vs: ~arc strider..2 hits. ~fist of havoc..2 hits. ~sentinel..2 hits. ~dawnblade..2 hits. ~nova bomb..2 hits. ~golden gun..1 hit. It's worth mentioning the strider can dodge in order to do more damage with their next hit. So this may vary up how many hits it takes to kill things in pvp. Fist of havoc vs: everything should be a one hit if you land dead on them. if you're using the shoulder bash though it will probably take an extra hit on them. There was an older clip I saw where the arc strider survived one fist of havoc and needed another slam to die. But I believe this was because the strider was already running away and the slam wasn't directly on top of them. I've slammed on nearly all of the supers and i've never had a situation where they lived. Sentinel vs: Everything baring gunslinger should be 2 hits. it performs pretty much the same as strider does. Nova bomb vs: It's a one hit on everything bar none. Dawnblade vs: Gunslinger..1 hit. Nova bomb..1 hit. fist of havoc.. 1 hit. (could be he was wounded. I don't remember.) Sentinel..1 hit. Arc strider.. 1 hit. dawnblade..1 hit. I Honestly feel the only reason the dawnblade might be one hitting these guys is because it has 2 ticks of damage that i've noticed. So if you're landing the hit dead center on someone it kills them. But if you barely knick them you need more damage. This is also why i've seen people get hitmarkers with their super against no super guardians. These are just my experiences. My opinion? Gunslinger is still a shutdown super. You just need follow up shots now which has room for counter play. But because of how quickly you can fire it I believe they chose to keep the resistance minimum for gunslinger if it has any. Sentinel and arc strider are very similar melee based supers. so needing 2 hits doesn't seem out of no where. However since the strider has less range and less gap closing potential comparitively they get the ability (on one subclass cluster mind you) to dodge for extra damage. Fist of havoc being a roaming super gave it more killing potential. especially more movement with shoulder charge. That being said a roaming super who can OHK everything easily is exactly what they wanted to avoid with the gunslinger. Which is why I believe that you need to be more accurate with your slams now. Or perhaps the inital slam does more damage compared to the rest of the other slams. That could be why my slams OHKed everything. You also have to factor in the damage bonus from slamming from the air for that one cluster. Dawnblade I think is figured to have the biggest kill potential. Which is why despite the power it has and the mobility it has a gunslinger can one shot them. And nova bomb is now the only one and done super. it's also slower now. So it makes sense that they gave them more resistance VIA super activation.
