I started back in like 96, my dad got me into it when I was a kid. Haven't played in a while, though occasionally my wife plays too. Back in the day I mostly played green or red decks.
I'm not really familiar with any of the recent blocks. The last big one I was into was mirrodin, by far one of my favorites. My two main decks are a Leonin based white/artifact(equipment) deck and a pure artifact deck based entirely on myr.

I've always wanted to make a pure artifact deck. A lit harder than I would've thought, though. Artificiers & such are usually required..

I could never get the artifact deck to work until I focused on myr. Here's my deck setup Lands: 4 darksteel citadel (artifact land) 4 cloudpost (lotus land) 4 glimmerpost (lotus land) 2 blinkmoth well 2 great furnace (artifact land) 2 tree of tales (artifact land) 2 vault of whispers (artifact land) 2 seat of the synod (artifact land) 2 ancient den (artifact land) Artifacts: 4 welding jar 4 cranial plating (equipment) 4 fireshrieker (equipment) Artifact creatures: 4 iron myr 4 copper myr 4 leaden myr 4 silver myr 4 gold myr 4 palladium myr 4 myr superion 4 myr enforcer 4 myr galvanizer So basically the deck works like this: -iron, copper, leaden, silver, gold, and palladium myr can all by tapped for mana -myr superion and enforcer are the heavy hitters. Enforcer becomes free to cast once I have 7 artifacts on the board -myr galvanizer gives all other myr +1/+1 -cranial plating gives equipped creature +1/+0 for every artifact you control (artifact lands and equipment and creatures all count) -Fireshrieker gives the equipped creature double strike -welding jar is a zero cost artifact that can be sacrificed to regenerate other artifacts, including creatures -glimmerpost gives 1 health per locus land when played -cloudpost gives 1 mana for each locus land when tapped The deck basically has unlimited mana reserves after the first few turns, and can field several extremely powerful creatures early in the game.

Sounds fun. Sadly, I don't habe amy Myr at my disposal. :(

I mostly bought the cards as singles from a local shop.

I do that too. Recently bought a bunch of Eldrazi for my "Eldrazi corruption" deck, revolving around sacrificing Scions for transformations. I want to make a Brisela focused deck, but I don't even know how to make decks focus on a single creature.,
