Scout fire is the best, it wasn’t because I outgunned a sidearm with the Khvostov on Scout Mode...well...shit.

Scout. Both modes suck because Bungie was too stupid to adjust for each mode, but as scouts require you to fire faster than any human being can possibly manage even on the lowest RPM setting, it's scouts. Pulses do crappy damage but at least it doesn't have a ridiculous fire rate. Imagine full-auto on the scout mode though. It does do more damage than normal autos in comparable archetypes (optimal TTK on one of the scout settings is like 0.6s) so it would melt.

But scout mode is the most usable mode though. But really, you just don't use it like an auto rifle and forget that it's not a pulse or a scout.
