I'd personally take their word over a random on the internet. This game could have been 60 FPS + dedicated Servers. Bungie chose not to go that route.

It's All hands on Deck! for the Bungie "secret shoppers".... never seen so many at one time on the forum. On a positive note, it looks like from the TWAB, that basically Luke Smith himself is concerned about the community backlash over their archaic network model system that plagued D1 with substantial issues and their POOR choice to not transition to primarily utilizing dedicated servers. In short, [b][u]the community voice of discontent over this is keeping them awake at night as it pertains to pre-orders and launch sales. [/u][/b][/quote]

He enjoyed riding his horse and eating ice cream on his balcony while the East Wind blew through his smooth, freshly trimmed hair. His parents were successful but all too busy, and forgot to teach their son the truth about the real world beyond that balcony or his castle walls. He was so used to living his life away from hardship, that he developed a stringent sense of entitlement. He ordered statues be built in his favor and anyone who marked them be shot on sight. Should a spear ever be thrown in his direction, he would catch it with his heart. Then came Troubled Tommy, a ragged spec of dust living with his old aunt in a shack next to the castle. His mother, a decent trader, was killed by bandits on the road just beyond the walls. The soldiers, however, lied to him and claimed it was wolves. Since then, Tommy grew up afraid of wolves rather than men. He worked for the blacksmith on the other side of town, and had fully developed calluses at the age of twelve. By the age of twenty, his aunt passed away leaving him with one desire: that he stays humble despite any success he creates. From then on, Tommy became the blacksmith's assistant. He befriended the guards and learned to fight. Tommy would sooner find out that his mother was in fact killed by men, one night at a bar with the captain, a fellow loyal to his king. Tommy would later be the man who threw the spear, ending the king's legacy for good. Had the prince even seen blood, he may have foresaw the consequences of his transgressions, such as keeping secrets from the wrong people. I'm really bored.

1 ReplyThe uneducation here is spilling all over the floor. Bungie will not run destiny 2 at 60fps because Sony cut corners on the PS4 "pro" and can't run at 60fps. There is no real implication that bungie isn't using the money the saved for other destiny 2 stuff as well, so there is no evidence of greed.

How do dedicated servers solve the fps issue? Also, I forgot the name of the thing used in Halo 5 and Overwatch to help achieve 60, dynamic scaling or something like that. I'm no software engineer or game developer, so I don't know exactly what it does or why Bungie isn't using it.

It's 2017 and we still have games that are funded to look like retro games. Guess what? In 2037, we're [i]still[/i] gonna have 8-bit games. We're [i]still[/i] gonna crowd fund pixel games. Watch this video. TL;DR, destiny 2 being 30 fps has more to do with consistency of experience and parity between the pro/non pro versions than anything else.
