17177 backwards is actually 77171, which is not a date. People are wrong.

Two currencies were shown in the reveal, one with the amount of 17177, and one with the amount of 98. Some people have theorized that these numbers represent dates. 98 backwards would be 89, or the date of 8/9. 8/9 is not the date of Destiny 2 launching, 9/8 is. 98 forward is 9/8, the actual date of Destiny 2's launch. So taking 17177, splitting it to 17/17/7, turning it backwards to 7/17/17 would mean that on 7/17/17 Bungie will release something. Many people interpret this to mean that this is a way for Bungie to slyly reveal the beta date of 7/17/17. Why would one number be a date forward, (98 to 9/8) and another number be a date after being sectioned into groups then reversed (17177 to 7/17/17)? Is it a Bungie easter egg, or not? Some people say that it's a date format of Year/Day/Month, so 17177 would be 2017/17/7, so both numbers follow a consistent pattern. What do you think? Edit: Just noticed a typo in the poll options, sorry. I typed this on my phone and I can't edit the options. Edit for conspiracy hype: When I googled "1717789" it came up with a part number for a Ford Alternator... I just replaced an alternator in my old Ford! In the list of optional compatible alternators, there was a SKU for OEM210417. I put OEM-210-417 in the code redemption page on bungie.net and I got a secret message!
The message said: "This token code is not in a valid format."
