Well let's start off by saying that most people, myself included never have a desire to buy a collectors edition of any game. Mostly because it's about the cost of a new console and often times doesn't offer up anything worth spending that kind of money. However when they announced the collectors edition for Destiny 2 I actually felt not only a desire to look into it but a need to look into it. I have played Destiny from the launch of the initial beta. I love everything about this game. So as soon as they announced pre-orders were available I looked into it while at work. I was very quickly determined that I didn't mind the cost of it and felt this was an investment I had to make. So the moment I got off work I went straight to my local GameStop to pre-order it. As soon as I mentioned the Collectors Edition they shut me down and said I could not get it. Apparently what I was unaware of is that Collectors Edition actually means if you are lucky edition. My local store was only aloud to sell 2 copies of it and they were both gone within half an hour of opening that day. In fact the entire state was sold out. I understand wanting to know how many you have to make and sell but if it is restricted to select few it's more or less a Limited Edition not a Collectors. I have no idea what the rest of our guardians may be feeling about this but as for myself, even after all this time since pre-order began, I feel upset and let down by this. Honestly I still got an upgraded copy of the game and will play it till they make a Destiny 3. I just feel that they have missed out on money that could have been made, or at the least from me. I know Bungie employees most likely wont read this however, if they do, I hope you could at least let me know why I had to be let down so much about this. I'm sure there must be others and if there are I would love to hear from you as well.
