destinytruthcast initial D2 thoughts from the reveal show floor w/ Mercules904 and AnonPig
So RedWingGirl1999 and I were at the D2 reveal Thursday representing bnet and we haven't had time to put together our full thoughts yet (we are recording a full episode later today), but I wanted to put this up first.
It's not a long episode and I wish I had more interviews, but I'm not really a reporter and kept forgetting I had the recorder in all the excitement of the day. It's still really cool to hear [url=http://www.destinymassivebreakdowns.com/2017/05/13/merculess-massive-breakdown-massive-breakdowns-cumulative-list/]Mercules[/url] and [url=https://soundcloud.com/destinylorecast/new-lore-cast]AnonPig's[/url] first impressions after playing D2. Tried to interview Mesa Sean, but he was playing the strike and we didn't cross paths after. We also ran into Pherian and Stenbox after we left the event and had probably the best Destiny conversation ever and I didn't have my recorder.
It was really an incredible event and Bungie and Activision really went all out with it and were as gracious and accommodating as could be. I know there are a lot a different opinions on what D2 is, but I can tell you it is still very much Destiny and it is also very much a new game.
Over the course of our time there we were able to spend significant time talking Destiny 2 with Cozmo, DeeJ, Pete Parsons, Josh Hamrick, James Tsai, Say No To Rage, Mercules904, Handsomedragon, AnonPig, Pherian, Stenbox, Justin from the DadTales podcast and Justin Social from Activision as well as met many other awesome people from the community and Bungie.
We tried to get real insight into the game and represent bnet and our community here and I think we had an experience that was really unique and hopefully as cool to share with everyone as it was to experience. Anyway I hope you all enjoy this, for anyone who doesn't know them Mercules904 (Mercules Massive Breakdowns) and AnonPig (DestinyLoreCast) are two really cool community members and it was really neat to get to interview them.

Your podcast is a joke. The couple I tried to listen to was nothing more than PVE-only and bad PVP players whining about what was OP for 45 mins to an hour or crying about PVP nerfs affecting PVE. Oh and something going over Redwinggirl's head about every 3 minutes.

8 RepliesLooks like you two had a blast! My only reservation is that I keep hearing it played like Halo. I stopped playing Halo years ago cause it got bland and very receptive over the years. My only worry is that they just went back to that Halo formula. Which is not the game I want to play. If the beta is anything similar then my order will be cancelled for sure.

3 RepliesFirst, as I'm getting a late start on posting about your trip... a sincere GRATZ to you AND Redwing. On top of that, it is an extremely good thing that you were both there to represent the bnet community, as most know (and some may not) that creating a medium to talk and express their views AND concerns with the severe amount of time and effort you both put in, without monopolizing on any financial revenue from doing so... is an awesome fact. Forbes magazines Paul Tassi recognizing the DTC in his visit also brought about recognition to the bnet community as well. Which was also outstanding. Putting aside any future indignation from what Destiny2 will not include from community and bnet voices during the course of Destiny1, I'm certain that the time taken and put into the DTC by community and bnet could very well be/or-been heard, considered, and did shape the future of Destiny2 by community that spoke out on forums and the DTC podcasts. In the future going forward, I'm glad you both are there (on these forums). It's a better thing for the community to be heard, than to be shunned by any non democratic individual/s who dictate/s their concerns and interests not worthy. Props to the community and props to you and Redwing. Outstanding job this last year.

13 RepliesThis is by far the worst Destiny Podcast team. Every single episode is just whining about crucible affecting pve. Like seriously go play Horizon or something if you hate the pvp content of a game created by Bungie that much.

1 ReplyI'm exited about more story content. I hope it's not just talk and marketing. I would like the game to make more sense. I'm hoping the campaign will last longer and not be over in few hours of play like the other D1 expansions. Don't know about 4v4 till I try it. I can see it be fun and less chaotic. Not happy about 30 fps on consoles and considering to go with PC. Not happy with PC release date delay compared to consoles. I would Bungie rather delay console release date till PC version is ready. Super abilities for Titan and Warlock looked cool and different except for Hunter. Hunter ability seem similar to blade dancer. Hoping Bungie just scratched the surface with the reveal and that there is more surprises ahead. Overall I'm looking forward to play Destiny 2 and will enjoy it.

21 RepliesOh my gosh, it was so awesome. Quiver!!! I got to meet all these people that stream, and YouTube. It was so great!! Goody goody -blam!-ing gum drops. And then I got to meet devs and community managers. I tried so hard to be a groupie and get back stage passes, cuz you know, got to spread that love. At last, I still left a virgin. Sigh. 6 RepliesIt's still way to early for me to form an opinion. If the story has been expanded and is more cohesive than lines like " I have no time to explain why I have no time to explain." Then it's already a step in the right direction. As long as the gun play still feels like Destiny, I'm in.

1 ReplyThis was more of a mass interview then the usual discussion, but it's fun to hear you guys uncoordinated and enthusiastic. Another fun cast. As for my opinion can't make one yet seeing the game in its early stages beta/alpha so I'll save my opinion when I form one. There is one thing I'll talk about though is the lack of dedicated servers for PVP.
