Edit- wow some of you just can't take good news. Go fück yourself if you want to try and bring down something that the community has been asking for a long time. To all you that want to be nitty picky and tear apart each word, maybe the wording was not the best. The point still stands there WILL be separation that much is clearly stated, and it's not just one ability or one thing it's the whole package. Get off your damn high horses and quit bitching about something that is purely positive. If you can't be positive about something that was added by request of the community then don't bother.

At 33:10, he's specifically talking about Warlock's Empowering Rift being balanced differently for PVE and PVP, before adding the caveat that they are going to do that on a case by case basis. So it's a non-answer when it comes to ruining entire weapon classes in PVE for the sake of PVP.

Edited by Itachi808_89: 5/22/2017 10:08:28 PMYou might want to give this article a read before getting happy about this "news" and then getting salty at people refuting it. http://kotaku.com/destiny-2-shows-bungie-is-listening-to-fans-in-its-own-1795437884 In the comments Kirk expands on his interview with Executive Producer David Allen: Kirk Hamilton Arppis 5/22/17 3:02pm Yeah, it can be frustrating how PvP and PvE balance grind against each other. I got a vague answer when I asked about that, but his response at least suggested things will work similarly in D2 to how they did in D1: Me: Are you guys going to continue with PvE and PvP having the same balancing? Where shotguns in Crucible get nerfed so shotguns in PvE get nerfed? David Allen: We’re not talking about specific balance changes yet. But we want the game world to be cohesive. We want the game to feel consistent across all the activities.
-
Perhaps now there is such things as "gun mods", perhaps they can limit what goes where. Such as not allowing gun mods in Trials.
-
Good. Now hunters can only ruin pvp.
-
Unfortunately bungie do NOT state that in D2 all weapons and abilities will be balanced separately in pvp and pve. Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.
-
That's nice, but the following topic they discussed was pretty lame. The way they worded it basically made it sound as if you don't actually need to think through your builds, but that the game basically does it for you and you just pick whatever one you want. Hopefully that isn't the case and he just didn't articulate well. One of the best parts of the MMO-esque side of Destiny is finding and customizing builds and loadouts that work well together. If D2 really will streamline builds the way he made it sound, I don't see how setting up your perks and class will differ that much from games like Shadow of Mordor or Ubisoft games where there is nothing really to figure out other than how to get the XP to unlock them.

All I got from that last 3 minutes was that there are a lot of lazy ass mytherfkers who play Destiny and can't read. So now they've dumbed it down to deciding for you and you can be a dumbass all day long. Pretty soon the game will auto aim and we will set it to auto pilot to grind strikes.
-
Yeah and that's why In destiny 2 they have taken away all hard hitting weapons snipers, grenade launchers, fusions and hidden them behind waiting to pick up power ammo in PvE If I'm on a strike and need to kill an enemy at range and have no heavy(power ammo) what do I do pull out a hand cannon or scout just to please the PvP crowd Just disable special slot when people enter PvP match simples everyone uses primary and collects heavy at given intervals
-
Bump for awareness.
-
They never claim that PvP nerfs won't negatively effect PvE weapons.
-
Hopefully PC and Console will be balanced separately as well. Not holding my breath on that one ...
-
Good find. Now people can stfu about it lol

Edited by ManBlaster: 5/20/2017 11:03:20 AM...well he also said its case by case basis... so it is and it isn't.(?) they left it open answered. there is no clear cut mention that any one alteration for crucible will not effect PvE. I too have been watching for this like a hawk, By now we should all have become wary of bungie half-answers and miseading comments. The whole Kinda-sorta-maybe-but-not-really interview answers achieve only hope and hype. "Nothing dies like hope." -Dredgen Yor
-
Good find. Hopefully it will apply to all abilities and weapons as it seems to imply.
