His name was Kabr. He wasn't my friend but I knew and respected him as a Guardian and a good man. He fought the Vex alone. This destroyed him. In the time before he vanished he said things that I think should be remembered. These are some of them:
"In the Vault time frays and a needle moves through it. The needle is the will of Atheon. I do not know the name of the shape that comes after the needle.
No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I was not alone.
You will meet the Templar in a place that is a time before or after stars. The stars will move around you and mark you and sing to you. They will decide if you are real.
I drank of them. It tasted like the sea."
That is all I can remember.

Edited by Talk2MeToner: 4/26/2017 2:13:00 AMCrazy thing is technically Kabr was alone. He may have opened it with other guardians however they were then erased from existence by the oracles. Erased so that they never even existed and no one could ever remember their names because they were never born to begin with. Meaning they then weren't there to help him open the vault. (And no Pahanin wasn't in Kabr's fire team. It is confirmed he was sent looking for Kabr after he was missing)

Why can't our guardians drink the oracles would Make the encounter a lot easier #letsgetdrunkonoracles

You know I read this post and was thinking about Kabr; one of my favorite lore characters. I was thinking about how he took the last of his light to make the Aegis. Thinking to myself about how guardians die. Did Kabr die or did he continue to transform into a Vex? Then a thought crossed my mind. What happened to Kbar's ghost? Was it destroyed? Did it leave the vault to seek out another guardian or did it simple cease to exist from time? That's when I thought about Kbar's words about the last of his light. Did he make the Aegis out of his own ghost? If not his ghost then what did he make it out of? Anyway, just a thought. The idea of swinging around the relic and it being made of Kbar's ghost and the last of his soul, or life force, just made the idea of the raid seem a little cooler to me.

When you mentioned that when Kabr's ghost possibly turned into the aegis. Well, that actually makes sense cause if you go through the raid there are 6 aegises. Which could mean that the entire team was lost in time and each of the ghosts turned into an aegis when infused with vex tech. So with that being said, all of the ghosts did this to create weapons to stop the templar and atheon in the future.

Edited by Synge_X: 4/26/2017 5:07:54 PMI like the, in-game photography, editing, filters, and most of all, cover of Pink Floyd's "Goodbye Cruel World". It was the perfect song choice, given Kabr's feelings about his fireteam, and his ultimate sacrifice.

KABR'S LAST WORDS: "Careful guys. I think there's a hole over hereee . . . Aahhhhhhh!"

Damn he knew the glitch....

Pahanin didn't he talk to himself all the time. And Kabr was an intense mofo.

The stars are the Gorgons aren't they?

Kabr. Pahanin. Praedyth. The Guardians who cracked the Vault. Honor their legend, Guardian. They may not have succeeded, but their bravery will not be forgotten.

You know the old saying [titans OP]

I absolutely love the Vault lore so much. The Vex and Hive lore is some of the most interesting lore I've read to date. It's really something else.

I'll just leave this video for you all to watch. One of the best lore-related videos I've ever seen. Props to Sir Wallen or whoever made the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyEbN-rpdAs
