Destiny 2: Buy Physical or Digital Deluxe Edition?

Hello fellow Guardians- It's been a long time. I retired (or remained inactive) after Taken King (Amazing DLC btw). If any of the Y1/Y2 vets recall the DLC Expansion pass debacle, I was hoping to get an answer if Bungie will provide future expansions outside of Expansion 1 and 2 a la carte? If fellow guardians have bought physical or original Destiny 2 deluxe editions, i want to know if we can buy future DLC w/o rebuying original game. It was one of the main reasons I have not bought decided to skip Rise of Iron ($39.99 DLC and none items transfer to Destiny 2). Apologies in advance if this topic has been covered. I tweeted Deej, Bungie, IGN to no avail. I was hoping it was covered or discuss here. Thanks Happydude007
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to the #Destiny forum. • The original business model for Destiny was to offer a retail release every other year with major DLC on the anniversary of each retail release and interstitial DLC between those annual releases.
In case you are wondering where I get this information from, Google for the leaked slide with the DLC plans, check the LA Times for the Bungie-Activision contract detailing the releases Bungie is required to make, and check Activision's investor calls were they discuss Destiny as another annual franchise like Call of Duty.
Of course, we all know that didn't work. Whether it was lack of sales or the limits of Bungie's development tools, they couldn't offer regular interstitial DLC releases. That was clear the moment they offered up The Taken King with no expansion pass for Year 2. Looking at the season pass and DLC plans for D2, we can assume that Bungie is going back to their original plan. That's a long way of saying you should go digital.
