Shin Malphur, after wandering for weeks on end, finally arrived at the small town of interest. He walked into an inn, and as he sat at a bar, dozens of eyes stared at him bewildered. They knew who he was, the renegade hunter, the son of Jarren Ward. He recalled when he first met his father, that day when he saw what Guardians truly stand for... liberty... peace. He remembered the day he lost his mentor, his father... his friend. He had at last put an end to Dredgen Yor, someone who was not a truly a man after being corrupted. As nostalgia swept through him, a slight smile appeared under his helmet. Shin wanted the days of the past to once again be present, but he knew that couldn't be. Now he would be the mentor, father and friend. He left, and just as he was about to open the door, a boy said, "Aren't you a guardian? Aren't you Shin Malphur?" He replied with a simple "Yes," and left the inn. He saw someone and asked where the Brays lived. He said the last house down the road. The little home hummed with joy and light. He saw a girl inside, a smile on her face. He knocked and she trotted to the wooden door, he had taken his helmet off. She opened the door and looked at him with utter shock. "Hello Courtney." he said. He went inside and when her mother came he gave her a nod, she knew why he was there. "I came to ask, if you want to help people?" "Yes," she said timidly. "I heard you lost your father to a man who took the title of Dredgen. Do you want to make sure that doesn't happen to anyone else?" She nodded looking at the floor. He lifted her chin up and smiled. "I have something for you," he said as he pulled out a slim, black, and worn revolver. "I can teach you how to use this, and you can avenge your father." She looked at him intently, "What is its name?" she asked. "The First Curse, and hopefully it will be the last."
