Exclusive Content. And preordering
Dear Bungie/Activision
XB1 user here, but I think PS players are sympathetic to this too.
If you MUST have an exclusive content deal with someone for Destiny 2, do not make the content exclusive for such a long period as a year, or two as there is currently.
You are not fostering a long-lasting community spirit by alienating your player base in this way.
Personally I will not be tempted whatsoever to preorder while there is uncertainty around content exclusivity and how long it will last for.
From our perspective, we are paying the same and our customer value to you is the same, so when negotiating these contracts, please consider that you do not earn any respect from us if we think we're receiving an inferior experience for even 3 months when paying the same amount.
Please give us the opportunity to enjoy all the aspects of your great game at a much less displaced time.

I do agree that everybody should get the same content on the console they play on. We're paying the same amount. The only problem is the companies are paying them to have that exclusive crap for "x amount of time".

Well unfortunately that's the world we live in we can't have everything we want. they want money and this is how they get, with exclusives. what other reason would you buy a PS4 over Xbox ? unless the PS4 has better more appealing exclusives you would go with the console you like. Lucky for me I think mirosofts business practices are bad for the game industry look at what they did to fable and scalebound. Plus bringing out Xbox project scopio only 4 years into the life span of Xbox one is just going to force PlayStation into making the ps5 before it's even been 5 years just so they can stay top. Shame we can't live in a dream world where all consoles are equal. we live in the world where money is all that matters. one console has to be better than the other in some way etheir power or games. if you ask me it would of been better if Microsoft never existed and Sony ruled all after all I will never forget the Xbox 360 red ring of death which was hell for all of us who sold them 54% broke down within the first year the amount of calls and returns I had to deal with, where's my money from mirsoft from dealing with the stress caused by their business it no wonder I choose PlayStation and I don't have regret it not one bit.

Heh, the exclusives aren't really all that good anyway, and, I don't think a few people not pre-ordering will make them not agree to a contract.

5 RepliesYou do realise the company gets nothing when you buy a preowned game so this is one of the few ways they make sure you buy on day one. I actually like games which come with day one dlc which is to say thank you for buying our game and not buying it preowned or when on sale. I personally feel cheat every time I've brought a game and when 2 weeks to 2 months later or at Christmas I see at a new lower price.

I have a PlayStation so I'm not fazed or concerned for another platform and what they get. If Xbox owners don't feel they get a fair shake then don't buy the game.

Agreed! Xbox users still haven't gotten much of the exclusive content that PS has revived. I thought we were supposed to have that available to us by now.

1 ReplyHonestly, exclusive content doesn't HELP PS4 users and it only harms XBONE users. Xur can't carry PS4 exclusives because he carries the same stuff across platforms. If that item isn't available to us, it won't be available to PS4 users through Xur either. Nightfall Strikes? The exclusive strikes can't be the nightfall on PS4 - because it can't be the nightfall on XBONE. So they don't get any additional strikes added in on the higher-end content. They have to play it at a lower difficulty level. So really, it doesn't enhance the PS4 play THAT much, but it is harming XBONE players. I get the whole deal about Sony willing to pay for exclusives and Xbox isn't. That totally makes sense actually, but in the end it is harming game experiences across both platforms in some way. As for pre-ordering? After my D1 experience, do they really think I'm going to throw money at my screen again just because they made yet another stellar trailer? I've learned my lesson this time around. Watch and see how the game is managed in those opening months. Watch to see if PVE is separated from PVP, and if endgame loot is going to be worth chasing again. Because if neither of these true, its just going to be Y2 all over again - which may be acceptable if you weren't a Y1 guardian. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) I experienced that golden era and anything less will simply not move me to purchase the game. There are a LOT of things I could buy with $250.00, including 3-4 FULL games at full price. Bungie could get my dollars, but they're going to have to earn them this time around. They failed to do it with RoI. Lets see if they can do better...

5 RepliesThe people paying the money dictate the deal. If Sony paid for a year that's what Sony will get. It sucks but don't act like it only goes on in Destiny. Both consoles have exclusive titles.

Destiny's timed content by itself is not bad, my issue has always been with Destiny's lack of all around content, it is hard to be happy with extra content being blocked off when you don't feel there is not enough to start with. As long as Destiny 2 has enough playable content it wouldn't be so bad.

I am a PS4 user and i fully agree with you. Maximum time a content shall be exclusive is 3 months. Anything longer is not fair to anyone.
