If bungie doesn't want fast ttk, can we have consistency in weapons back and better perks back?

I KNOW MY USER NAME IS NERF, BUT IM BEING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW. When I say bring back consistency, I mean revert the range/stability/accuracy nerfs across all weapons. If you don't revert them to y1 status, at least buff them to feel more consistent so they don't feel like complete 💩. THE INCONSISTENCIES... Autos have had their range and stability nerfed multiple times, and in top of that, all the y1 perks were nerfed as well. For example, hammer forged on Suros regime. Handcannons especially. We all know about the ghost bullets, and the insane range falloff. The exotics are still stuck with the y1 perks too, putting them at disadvantages. THE "TRADEOFF" PERKS... Replace all the "trade off" perks like reinforced barrel, casket mag, handlaid with the prepatch y1 perks. Yes you get a big chunk of range or stability, but then you get a big nerf to something else. What was the point of these in the first place? To make our guns feel even weaker? Rifled isn't a bad perk, but hammer forged pre nerf gave just as much range and increased accuracy with no trade off. Perfect balance gave as much stability as hand laid or braced frame, but had no trade off. Perfect balance now gives the equivalent amount of stability that fitted stock used to give you which is pathetic. And the fact that fitted stock is just a crappier perfect balance, why even have it in the game? These tradeoff perks don't "balance" the guns. They are just unnecessary as hell. USELESS MIDDLE COLUMN PERKS... I think all guns, including exotics should have a bonus perk slot. Why? Because perks like skip rounds, armor piercing, high cal, lightweight, snapshot, and QuickDraw are trumped by stat mod perks. Who's going to use skip rounds over rifled barrel? Or even snapshot? NOBODY. Not to mention Armor piercing rounds, high caliber, QuickDraw and snapshot were nerfed. So yeah, I wonder why nobody uses those. THE NERFS TO BASE STATS... In case some of you don't remember, the taken king (patch 2.0) said they reduced the base stats of the newer weapons because...I have no clue why they did that at all. Another reason the y1 weapons were stronger then all the weapons after y1. SUMMARY... This will make all the weapons in destiny better feel better without giving them fast time to kills because apparently bungie doesn't want primary's killing too quickly. Thanks for reading. EDIT: I FORGOT TO MENTION HOW -blam!-ING TERRIBLE AND UTTERLY USELESS SPEED RELOAD IS. JUST TAKE IT OUT OF THE GAME AT THIS POINT, OR UN NERF IT. BECAUSE RELOADING YOUR WEAPON QUICKLY WAS SOOOOOO OP EDIT 2: Well, apparently age of triumph will be the last update to destiny. BUT, i think some of this will be relevant to D2 if weapons and perks are similar.

  • If they don't want a fast TTK, the first things they should be considering is giving us more Guardian health, and separating the shield from it.

    TTK isn't the issue. It's too much variety available with only a handful being very good. The margins between good and bad are huge. RNG weapons and RNG perks don't belong in PvP. Eventually all that happens is the player's learn and choose the best of the lot and abuse it. This has happened time and time again every time there is a nerf or buff. PvP has been unbalanced since day 1. 90% of players use identical weapons for PvP. People want faster play styles but then complain; a map is too big or small; a weapon shoots to slow; or a weapons kills to fast. The issue is the balance between class and weapons. Most if not all FPS are preset load outs and balance its weapons with its class. Nothing is fun about every 6v6 has 75% or more of the players have identical load outs and run around trying to end the match in 3 minutes. The sequels PvP either needs to reel back in weapon variety and purpose its classes accordingly or it'll be the same unbalanced chaos it's always been. Destiny PvP has great mechanics with oversimplified match types and a convoluted RNG loot pool.

    • I'll always say this about shotguns, their range wasn't the issue, it was how quick a guardian could close the gap to get within killing range. The simplest fix would've been stagger from billets, meaning taking shots during your shotgun charge strat will slow you down. Because sometimes they're twenty feet and close the gap when you need that last shot, you've landed the others and they closed the gap just at the right time. That's what was so frustrating about shotguns in this game. Every game has a shotgun camper, but they're playing the shotgun in the best distance possible, close quartered. So you would try to learn to put distance, in destiny that strategy wouldn't work because blinkers, or skating titans will shoot you before you could get your last shot. Snipers was an easy fix, kick out of zoom. Don't go crying about that because halo had this and a good sniper played well even with that feature, you're just bad if that feature ruins your sniper spree. Specials should be just that, specials. A sniper should pick you off before you shoot, not during a storm of bullets. Fusions, they're still beastly in the right hands and at this point I'm only killed for not being evasive as much. Sidearms, welllllllllllll.

        - Surrounded - Last resort - Danger close - Vacuum - Guerrilla fighter - Exhumed It's these kind of perks I never understood. They serve no other purpose than to ruin a good roll and make you grind more for a weapon without it.

            • I agree so much. This is why year 1 was better. This is why we feel so weak now. Good ole 2.0. trash update. Exotic fatebringer wont be half the gun the original legendary was. Its a shame they even decided to go that route. Might as well just remove element and leave it at that.

            • Thats not even getting into the list of perks the new special ammo changes have rendered completely useless. Example: Exhumed Yeah getting that extra range and handling after revive is fun and all but now that perk is most likely useless. I mean at best its an extremely situational perk for trials that will probably never make a difference right? But outside of that one game mode that perk is unusable. (don't get me wrong I know it sucked before the change but now its gone from situational to completely pointless/ a slap to the face of a pvp player who gets a gun with the perk)

            • I think you touch on something very important here. Why is it that our new guns that are supposed to be stronger feel weaker? No player in a progressive type game should ever feel that question on the surface of their mind at any time. [spoiler]they should be feeling the raisins instead.[/spoiler] When you play a progressive type game Like destiny, WoW, monster hunter, final fantasy, etc., you have a standard pattern that repeats for most of the gameplay, Do something Become stronger Do harder thing now that you are stronger Repeat Sure you will have expansions that will provide shortcuts for newer players, but that's also needed for bringing new players to the game, can you imagine how much more tedious this game would be if you had to stop at level 20, find enough gear to get to level 24, do VoG and whatever else to get to level 29, do hard vault to get to 30, do crota normal to get to 31 crota hard to 32, prison of elders weekly challenges to get to 34, TTK content to get to 40, switch to a different system of leveling, bang out strikes for a chance at an item that might bring you up to 290-ish, do kings fall normal, do kings fall hard, do challenge of elders, bang out RoI content to get to 375, do WotM to get to 400. Just to get to max level! Anyway, where was I going with this rant? Oh right. How everything new is weaker than the old stuff. Sorry, that is mostly just poor planning on bungie's part. Just look at anything that was too strong. It was made that way, and then when people played with it and it was revealed to be too strong, it got the nerf hammer. It happened with the vex mythoclast Pocket infinity. Icebreaker. Black hammer. Field scout. Final round/LitC on snipers The shotpackage and rangefinder combo on shotguns. Shotpackage again. Rangefinder. Removing shotpackage altogether. ToM. Hawkmoon with its double lucky shots. I could go on and on about how there has barely been anything that hasn't had its effectiveness reduced in some way.

                • I think the opposite should be true for trade off perks. If more perks were a trade off there would be less of a God roll to dominate. Want more range get less stability. Want more stability get less range. Other things should trade of to match different play styles.

                  Make all guns realistic. 1 shot to the head. 2-3 shots to the chest. (1 if direct heart shot) Problem solved. All guns kill with the exact same amount of bullets and it will reward those who are more skilled in predicting movement, knowing when to engage in a firefight, and having the best aim.

                    • The biggest issues is not with the weapons themselves, but the map sizes. We had tiny, mostly close quarter maps. If the maps were all more open, and roughly twice the size we wouldn't have needed these nerfs.

                          Vanilla Destiny was a mess and Bungie has been trying to clean it up. No matter what Destiny 1 will always be a mess unless they do a complete revamp of everything. Destiny 2 will have an actual vision on what it will look like, unlike the fiasco Destiny 1's development was. We will never get a balanced Destiny until D2.
