Full raid sets reduce/increase damage from/to enemies related to the raid.
Full Faction gear can give huge stat bonuses. (Full Crucible/Vanguard gives +1 to all stats, Dead Orbit gives +3 armor, etc.)
Full variant gear can increase weapon stability, aim assist, etc. There's a lot of possibilities here.
This will incentivize getting full sets by adding a weight to Legendary armor.
Do you want to use that Exotic or do you want to stick with the full set for a stat bonus?
Edit: For anyone who thinks that this would make everyone look the same or impede their ability to mix and match armor, it won't. You can just keep using an Exotic like you have been and get the bonuses from that.
Edit 2: For the love of God, raid legendary gear bonuses are the same thing as Touch of Malice. They are awesome but only in certain circumstances and THEY AREN'T NECESSARY.
It's insane how many casuals are like "i don't want to have to put on raid gear to get the bonus.
Don't put it on then, idiot. Use your favorite Exotic. As long as you can get the job done, I don't care. This just to make it easier for people who have already beaten the raid enough times to get all the armor.

I just wish Titans would be removed from the game. It's be much more fun

This is actually something that The Division did really well. I love that concept. If you grind for a gear set and it takes you weeks to get it (or MONTHS for VoG in year 1) you should get some "set perk" for it. 🖒🖒
-
They already do: They give an aesthetic boost.
-
Kinda like The Division? Makes too much sense, you won't see it in Destiny.
-
So Gear Set bonuses like the Division? Maybe, but I think we have enough 'No Diversity' posts already >.<
i think not
Edited by kellygreen45: 3/23/2017 8:50:18 PMNo. Not unless Bungie severs PVE from PVP. Because this whole business with Skorri's shows that that any bonus that would be powerful enough to make them interesting from a PVE perspective..... ....would result in PVP players demanding it be nerfed for the sake of balance.

No -Bungie

I like to mix match. I think it would be cool if there was hidden abilities or rewards gained by equipping the right weird combo of armor.
-
This is something I'd like in Destiny 2, similar to how it works in Diablo 3. The more pieces of the set worn, the stronger the bonuses to your abilities
-
Hey, like in Terraria!
-
-
Agreed
-
Of all the things I've seen posted today on the forums this one has some merit. I mean, of course each piece already has some sort of perk. But for the work required to get a full set, I could see this being a thing, maybe Destiny 2. I like +1.
-
Nah. I want to wear trophies from every aspect of the game, a feat I'll finally be able to accomplish once the Raids all get boosted to max LL.
-
They've already done this in HoW. They gave more armor against certain enemy types and other little nick knacks. While it'd be fun and cool, they were ridiculously OP in the game mode.

Edited by SRGNT Ice: 3/23/2017 7:07:41 PM
Full variant gear can increase weapon stability, aim assist, etc. There's a lot of possibilities here.
This is why it is a bad idea. If any set bonus effects weapons, expect to see it as the only armor used in crucible.

Edited by anUNRULYfan: 3/23/2017 7:38:27 PMThey've already started this. WotM gear gives damage resistance and stat boosts, and the weapons do bonus damage to fallen. This is definitely a lead up to armor set bonuses or even cool weapon sets. We may see it in Destiny 2
-
In theory this might could work, but people would twist it to a requirement until the buff was nerfed into the ground.
-
This sounds so familiar...
Like in The Division. -_-
I'd rather not have to organize my gear like that again. It's hectic enough as it is.

Like having a full Tal Rasha's set in Diablo II loD.

Sounds very similar to "gear sets" on the division. However in your scenario that would remove your ability to wear and exotic. I think the WOTM armour did a good job of providing raid specific bonuses, as did the guns. However it would be cool to see it spread a bit wider across the gear available in game. The only one I would worry about is trials/IB armour, their bonuses would probably have to be PVP based, which could lead to a potential imbalance.
-
But, if you've beaten the raid enough times to get a full set, why do you need the raid to be easier?
-
Disagree!! i don't want to be forced to wear it. As i prefer to wear whatever i want without having to think about having a potencial disadvantage for pvp f.e....as it is now it's fine, as i care more for diversity, rather than running around like everyone else, as this is what your idea would lead too! Not agreeing...
