It's not your fault, it's not my fault, it's not even bungies fault.

To nerf or not to nerf? That's a question that will never have a real answer. Ever. One thing I've learned when it came to playing any fps is that players will use and abuse any insta-kill tool of destruction. When this happens at point do you blame yourself for setting a trend to kill on a milliseconds notice? Let's say it's not you. You are just that good. And quite frankly it is true. We each know our skill and weakness in a game once we care to learn them. Some weapons you use require real talent and skill to master. But then once you do you become this almost perfect or near perfect user who can out gun anyone at almost anytime. You have your best suited weapon to you. You have all the bells and whistles that give you that tiny edge you need and on average you can confidently defeat your opponent without having to feel like it's a struggle. But then you have people who don't need all those fancy things to kill easily. You could give them most atrocious weapons in all of destiny and they will kill you as if perks don't matter. At this point you can easily see that skill gap. But now ask yourself this, when do we stop trying to conform to what everyone else uses and play our own way to then learn how we could function without the "meta" or the popular trend said to be fastest killing weapons? To put very simply you can't. Yes it is very possible to learn a work around and it may take you almost forever in a day to do so but it is possible. But why put in all that effort and all that work when you could learn how to use the equally top meta guns and just master those and become better than the average joe who just uses the meta? The name of the game isn't "let's practice and practice our butts off to try and beat the super easy killing weapons so that we can use what we love!" It comes down to how easily you can take someone down with minimal effort of ease. That's why with every patch we find ourselves in a new meta with different things to try and hurry to learn so we can keep killing at the top game without it having to affect us as much. But let's get into specifics now. It's not at all your fault for why you lose every encounter when you don't use meta approved guns. It's not your fault why you use meta approved guns. It's not your fault that people complain and take away what you love to use. It's not your fault why the game it is the way it is now. It is not your fault for having mastery in such a weapon that your foes crumble so easily to you. For crying out loud it's not even bungies fault. You see a weapon that can end someone in seconds so you use it. Now who's fault is that? Who do we blame for you being so skilled and so god like? Actually it's everyone's fault. Bungie makes a weapon that felt cool and amazing and just spectacular. From the looks to how it's all shot. That weapon is unique in its own way. But they made it so destructive it would outclass other guns easily. But you being you will argue it takes skill and you weren't like that from the get go. But then people struggle to counter it with their preferred use of gameplay. And more often than not they can't because they either lack that skill to utilize it in such a way or they can't because the gun you use is too amazing in its own right. So now we play the blame game. You could say it's bungies fault for making such an over powered weapon. You can say it's someone's fault for discovering this very fast-ish insta-kill like gun. You can even say it's because the person you killed has no real skill. But all those answers are right and wrong. There will never be any real balance in this current game of destiny. You'll have things that come through and shine. You'll have weapons that can hold their own through and through. You'll have weapons that are too good that they never should have been put into the game. So bungie tries to create balance and it's a struggle. They have to listen to everyone and try to appease everyone and without meaning to upset the countless others. So they tweak things here and there. They turn off certain functions of things and give you new ways to have you play with the guns that have almost no light of day. But like I said earlier the name of the game is to kill first and be the fastest at doing so. But do keep in mind that destiny is way too dynamic to try and fix where things need fixing and where things don't. There is too much discrepancy between us as players to say what needs to be done and what actually needs to be done. But in all honesty this go around with destiny is a trial run for their actual perfection they really want to make. I mean I recall reading about the bungie weekly article for The Taken King. How they went on to say that that type of GUI and those little campaign videos where Oryx died and the shard of his sword was left behind for Eris to pick up, was the actual game they wanted to do at launch of destiny. They don't know what they got themselves into. And now that it's here they will do what they feel is best. But at times it's not always enough. So we wait and hope for the best. But come the next full game of destiny they shouldn't have these problems we have now. Sure they can't account for every little problem but they should account for the ones we have issues with the most.
