The argument justifying the nerf to special ammo is a crock of crap. Maybe I'm just lucky, but before the patch I engaged in mostly primary battles anyways (excluding perhaps trials oh and rumble let's not forget rumble.) Check my character I have a very wide margin between any and I mean ANY special kills vs primary.
I have a very big problem with this patch, and I won't be playing much destiny until this travesty is rectified. My suggestion for a solution is loading into a pvp match with a set amount of ammo and that's it no more special ammo crates. Now that my friends would help people to learn to use their special ammo as if it were special.
Another thing!!!! The nerf to truth, quickdraw, and bladedancer in general (looking at you josh) was just flat out unwarranted and unprofessional at best. Yeah sure bungie you design the game and should have somewhat of a say so in balance, but this heavy handed nerfing has to stop. Anywho that's my two cents about the latest patch stay frosty guardians after all this game is turning into cod anyways...

So bungie finally decided to nerf nlb and sidearms...smh
-
-
It's just the same primaries as before minus clever dragon and grasp. Soooo less diversity than before.
-
My primary is my rangefinder ironwreath
-
Oh, sure, people are using primary weapons more. They are just the same 4 primary weapons.
-
They are being fed. I was in a lobby where I wasn't killed by a single secondary. Here is game footage in case you get skeptical or want to defend your stupid ass point of view
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo-B0xbAwzs
-
Is mayonnaise a primary?
-
ppl have always used me along with my bro matador tresspasser and gally or truth
rip truth

uhh *spits in disgust* "clever dragon"
-
Someone else mention that spawning with a set ammo shit. Its a great idea just dont let ammo pieces affect the carried amount in PVP ONLY. If they did something like this it would make everything a lot better but they wont do it
-
And another post complaining about the exact same thing as all the other posts... I know Bungie is being beyond ignorant lately, but it's like a frikkin whaaaambulance here. I wish Bungie would make a single complain post and shut every other one down. /rant Ps: don't post you're gonna quit, just do it

I have always used primary's. I use mostly auto rifles. I have a positive KD on all 3 toons ( just! ) I've also played since the Alpha. I still find Pvp real good fun and all this Buffin and nerfin has had no effect on my game. One game I get a 2.0 and the next a 0.8. This is down to ME, my lack of concentration or a bit of luck now and again with grenades etc. I just don't know what all the fuss is about? There are people out there that are that good at trials they would hand your arse to us using a rusty spoon. Us mere normal crucible folk just need to lighten up a little.

Ok, it's simple math. You want to be shotty jugged, rushed, slide 1 shot? Or have to take 3-6 shots( which u can dodge out) to die? NOONE bitched about sidearm respawn ammo before, but now it's an issue? Are there any real guardians out there anymore? All I see on forums is kiddieguardians. The real issues are the nerfs to classes again! And still MM that purposely pits randos against fireteams. Discuss. Til we meet on the bannerfield guardians! Which better start today!!!!

Well since there's nothing to fix when it comes to special ammo, guess we won't be seeing much of you for the remainder of the game.
-
I think that the needs to only shotguns were fair enough.

Looking at your stats (stick with me, this isn't a rip on you), it looks to me like you engage in primary fights as a default, and use your special to back you up or give you a situational edge. I fight very similarly. What I would project happened to you was 2-fold. First, the type of special that you preferred (didn't look) was likely not a sidearm before the patch, meaning the ammo change has a perceived negative impact on it. Second, everyone is doing what everyone always does, and is scrambling for the gun that gives them a 2% better chance to win, meaning you are encountering a lot of sidearms. Don't feel like you have to use one too. Even if you lose ammo on death, there is a 50% or better chance that you can have ammo again within 30 seconds of any respawn in every game, so don't let that hold you back. Also, shotguns are still good, fusions are still good, snipers are still good, sidearms are exactly the same as they have always been: there's no reason not to give the game the middle finger and use what you want anyways. Other than a tiny blip on respawn, nothing has functionally changed, unless you were and airiel shotgunner, and even then, learn to slide and you'll be fine. This is the first week of the patch, things are crazy now, but they will settle soon. Play the game, don't let the game play you.

I'm enjoying being able to use Ice Breaker again.
-
K bye
-
Or, you get 3 special ammo drop from someone of you kill them with a primary.
-
I'm primarily using my sidearm now.
-
This game becoming like COD isn't necessarily a bad thing. Atleast for once the weapon some people will be using will depend on the map.

Edited by mallarie: 2/21/2017 8:02:35 PMI have been using the same load out since... well the day I got my Multitool. MIDA + (insert special weapon here) = 😁 They have never messed with my MIDA.
-
Im thinking a full clip for what ever weapon you load in with.. if you change you loose all your special ammo.. if you die you keep what you have and no special boxes left.. this would give you several opportunities for kills but, would have to be used properly, there would be strategy to it.
I won't be playing much Destiny until this travesty is rectified
Not that I completely disagree, but... lmao
-
Same, I think I died more to primaries in trials before the patch then I did to special weapons. Now all i see is "Wormwood" or "No Flinch Beyond"
-
The nerf to Hungering Blade is good, taking into account the special ammo nerf. It still is difficult to bring down a Blade, but almost impossible with no shotgun ammo.
-
All i care about is what they did to my Void Walker. Have not played since.
