Hotfix 2.5.0.2 Thoughts From A Beta Player:

I'm going to try and present my thoughts on this in a fairly level-headed manner. First off, Hand Cannons are now REALLY strong. Pretty much the best weapon class for their effective range. This is a problem for Auto Rifles, because they share the same effective range. It's very easy to outplay an Auto with a Hand Cannon in this current state of the game. Auto Rifles still need tweaking (Focused Fire is still terrible, by the way). In regards to other Primaries, Clever Dragon and Grasp of Malok still seem fairly useable and I'm fairly happy with those changes, so props. Scout Rifles are the same they've always been, so not much to say there, and other Pulses seem to be faring fairly well too. The Hawksaw archetype is as strong as ever and the Parthian Shot archetype is more useable (although I still feel they get outplayed by Hand Cannons and the faster firing Pulses). Now Specials, and this is where things get a bit messy. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the special ammo economy changes. Sidearms dominate 6v6 currently because they completely negate the special ammo changes you implemented, and leave little reason to use anything else. Either revert the change back to how it was, or change Sidearms so they also lose ammo on death. In terms of the Truth nerf, I don't particularly have a problem with it. It's still the best PvP rocket for 1v1 engagements. I personally would've nerfed the mag size back down to 2 as opposed to 1 but we'll see how it plays out. In terms of Class changes, totally fine with the Thunderstrike and Jugg shield nerfs. They were warranted. Also don't really have an issue with the Hungering Blade changes (although if you could fix all the other health regen perks you broke that'd be swell). Don't really see why you nerfed Blink again. It was bad enough after the Recov nerf, but now there's pretty much no reason to use it. I also don't really agree with the changes to Quickdraw on Bladedancer as it now leaves Fleet Footed as the only viable option for PvP, and it also provided a nice alternative for people who didn't have Quickdraw on Snipers. In terms of Shinobu's Vow and Ophidian Aspect, I just want to say that the Shinobu's Vow changes don't appear to have applied. I still have two grenade charges when I use it and the tracking is as obnoxious as ever. I'm fine with the Ophidian Aspect changes. It was a loaded exotic and there was pretty much no reason to use anything else on a Warlock. And that's pretty much it. I decided I didn't really want this to be a rant, and hopefully the devs can get something out of this feedback.

  • I love it when people comment that run only one class or the other. I main all 3 classes pretty equally so I'm telling you none of the class nerfs besides jugg and thunderstrike were good or warranted, none! Jugg was warranted and the thunderstrike melee, that's it! If you agree with the Ophidian Aspect nerfs you must agree with the QuickDraw nerf for BD or else you're being biased! The two subclasses that got hit the hardest are Bladedancer and Voidwalker. Just 😳 The exotics didn't need nerfed none. Shinobus vows just needed the tracking time reduced did they do that? No. They know nothing about this game, they don't play it enough to know anything..

    • I agree with you. I was using my auto rifle last night. Had a couple good 6v6 games with 30 plus kills. Then I played eliminatiom and was getting wrecked buy 3 shots of a hand cannon. His ttk was def. faster than mine as we came head to head with me shooting almost all precision shots on him but he killed me with 3 shots before I killed him.

    • As per ur side arm comment.... if ur alive for enough time chances are ull find a special box.... which means u can run whatever gun u used to but u just wont have as many shots due to loss on death and not being able to pick up as many boxes. If u dont have special dust off ur primary and use it...

      • I've been a blade since the game launched and have been running blink just as long. It's finally bad enough for me to say that I'm switching to better control. RIP Blink.

      • Reading up on what's within the new patch. It is both a challenge, and an obstacle for various reasons already highlighted. Why take something apart if it is not broken? Hopefully enough response tells the dev team to make it work for the better. (instead of all the naysaying) read in the forums.

      • Hunters got the shaft as usual no balance changes just straight nerfs...really a solar throwing knife big whoop. Warlocks and titans now complaining about health regen please hunters are the only ones that dont get overshields get use to being squishy you blueberries. Blade has always been inferior to other classes no argument or opinion can justify that as wrong. Adjusting landfall that makes sense jug shield to not proc in the air that make sense. Not to mention you -blam!-ed blink and never called the next day. Someone at Bungie needs to send out a memo explainingnthe definition of balance to everyone to make sure they understand . 1 big beta test for destiny 2 make our game and your product great again! #day1....vanilla was the best.

It removed the extra seeker that it added. (4 to 5 not back to normal 4)
