The nine uncovered. [survivors]

So today I want to talk about the nine. Mysterious, powerful, and generally scary. We don’t really know all that much about them, but there’s one card that dumps a whole load of possibilities. And that is the card I’m going to be discussing today. I’m going to go over the options that have some decent evidence supporting them. So let’s get to some hypothetical situations. [This is the first part of a series of nine theories I have coming.]
The nine are survivors of the cis-Jovian colonies who made a compact with an alien force to ensure their own survival.
This is supported by a few simples quotes from Xur.
1
"We saw the colony fail, not knowing what we saw."
2
"The Awoken did not have a choice. We did."
3
"For organic life to exist it requires constant adaptation."

So if we assume this is true, we have to guess what that alien force was. I’m guessing the ahamkara. What makes me think that? The nine had a choice to something. It was a choice that the awoken didn’t have. Whatever happened to the awoken must have happened to the nine too. They chose to make a compact with an alien force, which must have given them significant power. The Ahamkara are known to make deals with people to give them power, in exchange for something else. And there conveniently happens to be ahamkara in the nine’s territory. (Jupiter) One must wonder, What was the deal? The first quote. They “watched the colony fail”, not knowing what they saw. I suspect that the nine traded the entirety of their colony in exchange for the power to survive something. Survive what? Survive the collapse. But what was this ability? Let’s look at the awoken. Whatever happened to the nine happened to the awoken as well, but the awoken didn’t have a choice in the matter. From Mara Sov, we can assume the awoken are born from a mix between the light and the dark as she says. “Starlight was my mother, and my father was the dark.” The nine may be very similar to the awoken, but a little more perfected/powerful. But if this change occurred because of a deal with the ahamkara, why was it forced on the awoken? Guilt. I suspect that, if the nine did indeed trade their people for power without realizing it, they surely felt terrible about it. So when they saw the fleets trying to run from the darkness, the nine changed them to save them from the darkness that would have consumed them otherwise. They mixed their sparks of light with a bit of darkness and shouded them. The nine had a choice, but the awoken didn’t. Alternately the nine had no hand in the awoken's transformation. The nine may have simple traded their colony for the sake of becoming powerful. The people that became the awoken may have found themselves between a rock and a hard place when they ran, so they were forced to bargain with the ahamkara (or maybe something else) to survive the crushing force that waited for them beyond Earth. So there you have it. Hypothetically, If the nine were in fact the survivors of the cis-Jovian colonies who made a compact with an alien force to ensure their own survival, they may have made a deal with the ahamkara to save themselves. In doing so, they wiped out their own colony. Option A: Feeling guilty and knowing the fate of the people who wanted to escape, they changed those people and made them into the awoken. Option B: They underwent the same transformation as the awoken, but did so on their own terms. Possible or not, that’s for you decide. Hope you enjoyed. • I would believe that since there is another grimoire card that states that the "first born awoken" aka The Queen is a member of the nine the is no sense in having 2 parts state that it is the awoken. Also all of the survivors are supposed to be Cis- Jovian aka mars, earth, Venus, and mercury. The only know alien force that has made itself useful to the people of the cis-Jovian is The Traveler. Thus I believe that this card just references humans as being a part of the nine or potential exos. Also I have a done my views on who I believe the nine are so take a look and see what you think.
