In my opinion I feel as if Taken King had the most work put into it.
ACTUAL SPOILER BELOW
The same story devs of Taken King are creating the Destiny 2 story
Rise of Iron died too fast. Haven't touched the plaguelands in months. House of Wolves, Petra just wouldn't SHUT UP. The Dark Below and Taken King were my favorites. I still visit the Dreadnaught and Run Crota every once in a while.

Taken King

HoW was not the best per se, but I really did enjoy it.
-
Dark below was a shit show, but HoW added reforging, poe, ascension and decent story. Rise of iron was good but not as refreshing as HoW. Taken king was overhyped and to rng based to get the 320.

In terms of when the game was at its peak, I'd say HoW. In terms of when I had the most fun, though, I'd pick TDB. I was still new to the game, had content to work towards completing, and I loved all of the weapons of the time. If I could go through a Destiny time machine, I'd go back to TDB hands-down.
-
Taken king for sure! There was so many new things to do, not to mention the killer story.
-
Meta was good in Crotas end.
-
That is fantastic. TTK had awesome cutscenes and a solid story. I liked the Rise of Iron story but it was just too short for me.

Edited by Swiftlock: 1/30/2017 4:29:10 AMHouse of Wolves. Mainly because the old raids were still relevant and PvP was much more fun back then compared to today, even if it wasn't perfect.. Stuff wasn't getting slammed with nerfs left and right and you could still succeed with a wide plethora of primary weapons. Even after beating Skolas, I still felt compelled to regularly come back to the game and tinker with rerolling weapons and then taking them for a spin in PvP. After beating Oryx in TTK, I didn't have the same drive.
