I had played The Division when it first came out and quit at level 15. Mostly due to the game's sharp difficulty and lack of people to play with. Now after re-buying the game at a much lower discounted price in current patch 1.5 I forced myself to level to 30 as I was looking for a shooting game with loot.
And that is when the fun starts. Running your character through and getting end game gear, resembles playing Diablo 3 post patch except with guns. Basically loot can drop at highest level (gear score/light level) from regular enemies. So you can run regular missions on different difficulty modes and still get best weapons and armor.
You are not required to do highest end game activities to get good loot. All you need to do is switch the world to Tier 5.
If you like different real world guns, and enjoy games like Diablo 3 in an online setting with other players, and enjoy outfitting your character. I would highly recommend it.
If I had to make a comparison for this game, I would call it World of Warcraft with guns. It actually is that addicting once you start farming for loot and clearing different activities. This is not what the game was when it first came out. Right now, I can open up my map and I have tons of stuff to do. Also season pass holders get a lot of additional stuff and all the three DLC. Coming soon is team based pvp mode as well. I would really think before buying the DLC though. It has to be something you really like, which at first I did not, so it came as surprise that the game grew on me.
One thing I must warn is initially challenging and has a learning curve, but once you pass a certain gear score, the content gets a lot easier.

Edit: If you msg me on PSN ( pd_33 ), I won't mind playing with you.
If you are just going to trash talk, please don't post.

Downloaded again last weekend, couldn't even connect. Deleted... again
-
I loves the game but I kinda had to stop playing because all of my friends did.
-
Redownloaded last Sunday. Played for maybe 10 minutes. Closed the game and proceeded to delete it. It's just a lost cost for me. Only Ubisoft game I've played that I don't like.

Edited by fall4: 1/26/2017 3:07:30 AMI'm getting it again Tomorrow on xbox one, anyway some could help me get my gear score up? I'd really appreciate it GT fall4

Edited by Legion: 1/27/2017 5:57:58 AMI am a week and a half in. Currently working on Gear sets that are 256. Can't dark zone, too many assholes backstabbing me while dealing with mobs, So I just run my dailies and survival for gear chache.

I'll consider actually picking it up now
-
Played since first beta Just bullet sponges Non stop bullet sponges Adding a roguelike mode didn't help Group dz instancing helped to remove the group ganking that has plagued the dz since beta 1 Overall the game is better that it was a launch But it should have been in this state at launch.. Still too much a grind followed by non stop bullet sponges

The Division....great!? Top KAK son. Top KAK! 👍😂
-
Division has come a very long and rough way, but it's a good game now if you are a fan of Diablo like games And with 1.6 coming out and making named weapons have special perks, new sets, alpha bridge being nerfed to 4 perks, and a PvP arena, rogues will be actual rouges who want to steal your stuff in DZ and not just because they want to PvP.

I may try it again. Literally hated it so much I couldn't play past level 10
-
It left such a bad first impression with people that I doubt many will give it a second chance regardless of the changes. 7 days to die had the same problem, very bad first impression that keeps people away even thought it's vastly different now. Can't really blame them either, but at least you find enjoyment where others don't care to look any longer.

For me, games that have daily activities that are run for your loot have become too much of a chore. Also didn't like it when I felt like I would fall behind by not logging in every day. That is how games like diablo and grim dawn set themselves apart to me. All you need to do is play them to get loot. No need to pick up certain quests and then run a certain mission.

Edited by TreeMan_X: 1/26/2017 8:11:50 PMDo the homeless people still have adamantium skeletons and clothes, eat bullets for breakfast, are still overpowered as shit, have aimbot, and can use shotguns like snipers? Do I need the DLC to get to the higher gear score, is it worth playing without the DLC still.

Thanks for the heads up: Went from 190 to 250ish today after about 6 missions. These loot drop upgrades make the game infinitely more enjoyable.

It's okay now. And now that Last Stand will soon be on the way, I'm looking forward to it. But what I really want to know... Is how rare is the high-end FAMAS assault rifle?! I've never gotten one, only the superior version twice. It's awesome but I want a high-end version to replace my G36.
-
I am just not seeing a rise of great fps loooter shooters. Division and destiny. I just hope andromeda stays more like one and not like the others
-
I've gotten to level 14 and am stuck! I have completed all the missions for my level and need to find a way besides dz to get loot.

Edited by Psychic Donuts: 1/28/2017 12:17:05 AMI'd rather just play Diablo than a supposed good game because it is like Diablo.
Mission accomplished. Jimmies have been rustled.
Does it still take a full mag to kill a hobo?
-
Bought that game on release date. Never regretted any purchase more than that. Made it to max level, then realized there was less endgame content than Destiny. Maybe one day I'll go back to it if it's as good as people claim, but only if it comes with all the dlc for a low price.

Game is good until you play any other game. You just don't wanna go back to the division bro.
-
There's nothing to do though

Edited by x Silver cRoW x: 1/25/2017 4:08:31 PMFor anyone scared it will take too long to level up, the only grind is getting your character to level 30 (which isn't that bad). Once you get there it's easy to get high end gear, and you NEVER have to touch the dark zone! In an hour you can be at max gear score for whatever tier level you are in. I have played on the test server and most of the newest patches, if these guys did a better job of end game early then I would be much more interested in playing this game now, but too much of grinding the missions has made it near impossible for me personally to get invested in this game other than popping in for an hour or so every couple weeks. And no way I can reward them with buying dlc when end game was so neglected after they released. I am so disappointed in all AAA games right now, I won't be buying any more half assed games!

I suppose I can install it into my Xbox One..

Edited by Macgyver: 1/25/2017 12:02:49 AMGood post buddy. I'm glad you've been enjoying the game. Personally I'm excited about the upcoming patch, and the new multiplayer mode coming out soon. Ps Your post needs more likes.

Might get it for PC. What dlc are they on and how many more left to come out?
