So I got BF1 recently and have been playing nothing but that for about a month now. I decided to visit the community, thinking "If this AAA games' community is anything like Destiny's, I'll surely have fun there." I've never felt more out-of-place on the internet. I felt more at home on bestgore than there. Y'know, it made me miss this place. I haven't even been gone for [i]that[/i] long. I don't know if I wasn't looking hard enough or something, but it seems that the community there is just a bit... off. It's hard to explain. All the posts are about "what's your favorite [b]x[/b] in BF1?", "What are your thoughts on [b]y[/b]?" There's a buncha replies to the threads themselves, but almost never any real discussion. Most of the comments I saw were just people saying what they wanted to and nobody talking about that with them. It's weird. It's like you wake up one day and everything is a Robotic Utopia. Nothing is wrong, but that's what's wrong. They're so... [b][i]Unnatural![/i][/b] Meanwhile, you come over here, where someone could start a bloody race war over some four-word comment about how the Cabal are the descendants from Trump supporters, and you wonder how a game can cause such emotional triggers in people. And yet, even though we love to rip each other to shreds, there's something about this place. And it's because of that something that I'm not going to leave here anytime soon, and I'm sure I'm not going to be alone in that declaration. EDIT: Y'all better chill with that "BF1 is boring" stuff. The game itself has still taken more of my time than Destiny has in 2017 so far. But still, that sort of opposing opinion sprinkled with passive aggression is what I love this place for <3 Also, I feel the need to say that I felt that the community itself is impersonal. The game itself is dope imo, but whenever I try to message someone on xbox or try to start a conversation on the forums I never get a reply. It's like I'm the only sane one talking to a lot of robots whose software crashes whenever you give an input that's outside their programming! It's so bloody weird!
