BUNGIE PLEASE NO MORE NERFS
The clever dragon is perfect, shotguns are perfect. Its not that they're inherently broken, its that everything else sucks major ass.
Buff the archetypes that we have almost never seen be dominant in crucible. I would love to try exiles student in pvp without feeling like I'm tickling the enemy. I would love to use a high ROF shotgun and not feel like I'm shooting dust. As for autos, I've spent 2 and a half years dismantling or vaulting some pretty nasty rolls, and I think it would be fun to have them be competitive again.
Rant over, if you disagree that's fine, let me know what you guys think...
Edit: when I say the clever dragon is "perfect", I only mean the base gun and Its arch type. Obviously HC rounds make it a little to strong, especially since grasp can't roll with that perk (not sure about others). But, the archetype is in a good state. You can outgun pulses with hand cannons close to medium, and the range fall off isn't very discouraging.
Thanks for all your feedback, It's nice to know I'm not the only one who wants the "archetypes in the shadows" to be usable.

They rotate the meta. They have never wanted balance. They want to rotate the meta as policy so they can seem to be listening to that part of the community and acting on there complaints. It's simple rotation,don't be deceived by bongo,they have always facilitated a meta in destiny as choice not incompetence to provide balance.

8 RepliesThe "meta" in Destiny has not changed since year 1. And that meta has been shotguns and snipers. The difference is, in year one, there were a number of strong primaries that could counter this meta. How many times do u honestly get killed by a primary anymore?? Be honest.

1 ReplySomething tells me you thought Thorn was perfect in y1, and that final round snipers were too. No. While I agree that weapons need buffs, it won't matter if a gun does something blatantly better than it. Clever dragon can 3 burst quickly. Hawksaw can too, but not as quickly. The red death can 3 burst, but really slowly. The messenger can 2 burst, but rarely and slow as hell. You can't buff hawksaw or it becomes better than everything else. You can't buff red death or it's better than the messenger. You could try to buff the messenger, but what's the point of using anything else then? This whole game is unbalanced and not perfect, and it never will be. Anytime someone says, "this is the closest we've been to having the game balanced!" all they really mean is "this is the closest we've been to having everything be underpowered and shit." There will always be 1 or 2 weapons that have the advantage. I agree, buffs are needed, but how will they buff anything without IT being the next best thing? I'm starting to give up on crucible. If everything isn't viable, then nothing will be (except those 2 that actually are).

I think clever dragon archetype is fine but if they unnerf sniper flinch and hcr isn't as effective on them I'll be perfectly satisfied, if not though, I really don't want to have to use my matador

It would take you a good few hours to read all of it if not more, and if Bungie actually listened the word ( nerf ) wouldn't even exist in this game. The reality of all of this is that word ( nerf ) does exist and knowing the nerf happy team...your weapon you cherish will get nerfed eventually.

i've said this since they first started nerfing stuff. rather than nerf something that is being overused, why not buff other things to make them viable. sooner or later, it's going to feel like we're running around with BB guns. because every update seems to nerf something else.

1 ReplyIf I was in charge of balancing I'd basically just revert all pulse rifles almost to HoW damage, change HC accuracy to HoW but keep damage falloff the same (Also I'd buff base range but keep max range the same so rifled barrel is no longer mandatory). Drastically increase auto ttk but nerf range (kills like an OG suros or doctrine but only up close). Someone down below suggested making it impossible to hit crit damage after range drop off which would totally make scouts viable again. For special weapons I'd reduce all ammo capacity on all specials, keep shottys the same, change back sniper handling and zoom (what was the point of this nerf when there are only 3 big maps in the game) and buff range and accuracy of fusions. But I'm not in charge so that's not gonna happen.
