It is very dumb for the weapon type. Its like putting rangefinder on a sniper or firefly on a rocket launcher.
-
More like remove rangefinder on shotguns. Actually remove all perks this increase range from shotguns.
-
Edited by Sir Michael: 12/11/2016 7:48:42 PMYeah, it doesn't really make sense. We rarely experience damage falloff with Scout Rifles (which only happens on the biggest maps), the perk is very situational when it comes down to it. Even with Hand Laid Stock's range trade-off on Distant Star, I never experience damage falloff in Crucible, but it does happen when I try to kill enemies from long to extreme range in PvE. It's still accurate too, I've never had any inconsistency with the gun. The perk is nice for Hand Cannons because of the accuracy cone and the weapon class's severe damage falloff. Can't really speak for shotguns since I don't use Legendary ones.
-
It narrows the accuracy cone. On high rate of fire like distant star my rangefinder one is more reliable than my max stability one
-
I got a Distant Star with perfect balance, HCR and rangefinder. I still get outplayed here and there, so sorry your argument is moot.
-
Range finder can actually be useful on scouts. The perk does more than boost the range of the weapon guardian.
-
The range finder perk is is useful on all weapons! There is this thing called damage drop off and if you use/have rangefinder it helps extend that range drop off so you get the max damage further out
-
You're really complaining about Scout Rifles? Really?
-
So is putting rangefinder on shotguns. Just because you aim down the sights doesn't mean you instantly tighten up the pellets grouping. IT'S A SHOTGUN!
-
TAKE OUT HCR FROM PULSES AND SCOUTS!.. BUNGIE youre so nosense and fragile!. Taking them from mida and giving them to legendarys back?!?!
-
Love range finder.
-
Remove rangefinder, and any range perks off shotguns also c:
-
True, but firefly triggered by just a normal kill instead of precision for a rocket launcher, would be my bae😂
-
Edited by mandible01: 12/9/2016 6:11:37 PMRangefinder tightens your shot grouping, it's like a choke for shotguns or having more accuracy on auto rifles or pulse rifles; It may not directly affect your range but due to it's behavior it simulates it on faster firing or less stable guns. That being said, it's more useful on scout rifles and hand cannons with a faster fire rate. Just thought i would throw this info here for those who missed Bungie's post on perks some time back. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/44841/7_Destiny-Weapon-Tuning---June-Update
-
That makes no sense. Rangefinder can be great to lessen the effect of other perks that hurt your range. It's invaluable.
-
As an avid scout user this is an extremely stupid suggestion. Scouts are supposed to be a gun for distance kills but you nerf herders get your way 100% of the time so I guess my favorite weapon class is going to be rendered useless in the near future.
-
On certain maps Rangefinder helps ALOT if your in shotgun range most of the time of course it's useless
-
Nerf every weapon and let's fight with forks and spoons
-
Its best for low impact/high rof scouts. Definitely needs to stay.
-
-
Scout rifles are supposed to be next to snipers in range and stability. Removing rangefinder from select sour rifles would make scouts a less viable option at medium and long range.
-
It's just there to make other better perks just a little harder to get. It's stupid, I know.
-
I don't think I have ever seen one with rangefinder, I agree it is a bit pointless though
-
Nope. Scouts need rangefinder to be a good sniper counter. That's why Chaos Dogma~ is such a good scout: the base range is stupid far.
-
Doesn't range finder increase accuracy too?
-
I have never seen rangefinder on a scout rifle so
-
I after searching though my vault, I found a hand of judgement with HCR.
