Hello everyone. So, in case you haven't heard, it's been confirmed that green engrams will now automatically decode into weapon/armor parts when you pick them up after The Dawning launches, but only if you are level 40. Ever since Bungie updated the economy a while back and made blues and greens drop more often than they used to, it has caused people to spend a lot of time in their menus trying to get rid of their greens that would keep them from picking up blues, purples, and even golden loot.
For the most part, that's fine, since the postmaster would just hold onto them for you until you decided to pick them up. But it would be a problem if you decided to farm in a strike, forge, or any other activity for more than a few hours, because then the postmaster would have too much loot to hold onto, and would thus discard some of your hard earned loot in place of the rest. And it hurts even more if this were to happen to any exotics you happened to farm but couldn't pick up because you had too many engrams on your person.
Now in my opinion, there are at least a few other ways Bungie could've gone about the engram issue that would've pleased everyone in the long run, since I'm sure a lot of green collectors, as well as players who challenge themselves by wearing greens are upset with the fact that they soon won't be able to pick up greens anymore. Listed below are a few ideas I've collected from the community that i liked and decided to share with everyone else.
Increased Postmaster Space: This one should be very simple for Bungie to do. All they need to do is add a few extra pages to the postmaster. I'm no coding expert, but it shouldn't be difficult to add a few more pages to an NPC.
400 Light Everything: This idea sounds like a charm. Basically, all weapons and armors, be they white, green, blue, purple, or gold, can all be upgraded to 400 light. Now i think a lot of collectors out there will agree that this idea is a match made in Heaven for Destiny players, because if this were a thing, people could wear whatever they wanted without worrying about being held back by light level constraints.
True Rarity System: This one i found on a post on Youtube. Can't remember where it was posted or who they are, but credit goes to them for this one. Basically this idea would have all engrams be truthful with their rarity, so commons would drop commonly, uncommons would drop less commonly, rares would be rare, legendarys would be harder to find than rares, and exotics would be about as easy to find as a winning ticket to the $1,000,000 jackpot.
I really do like the True Rarity System myself, in addition to the 400 Light Everything option. If both of these could be fused together into one big update, I'm sure it would please a lot of people. Let me know what you all think about these ideas down below, and if you have any ideas that could be added onto this post.

Edited by firerwolf: 12/7/2016 4:48:50 PMThis may take the cake for the dumbest post on the forums today. Well done bitching about something that any sane person has welcomed happily. And doing it in the most confusing jumbled way possible.

I've never had greens even go to the post master. I didn't even know they could go to the post master.

But now I can't get my quagmire anymore...

Auto dismantle should have been in the game from the start options for green and blue auto dismantle so when you speed run strikes you will have a full inventory of purples and yellows. Hey guys don't stress the beta is almost done. One more year and the final game will be released.

The auto-dismantle is better for 90% of the players who get fed up with the amount of greens they get. For the collectors, just make this a toggle option, so greens won't automatically dismantle themselves.

People wear greens?.... 😱

Its simple really.....let us select what engrams we want to auto dismantle in settings. For instance i want to only keep legendaries snd exotics. So let me select green and blue to be auto dismantled. Just give us the option to turn on or off this feature for both blues and greens.

True Rarity would not work. It would if they were actually useful. Sadly exotics are not worth a 1million dollar lotto ticket
