In-game Lore and Proportionate Enemies for Destiny 2

Please Bungie take more care for in-game accuracy for lore purposes. You did good in some places but bad in others. Some of the most positive things (in-game) was the ghost scans in TTK. Those provided references to previous missions (Omnigul Breach in Promethean Code) and started more speculation about the lore (Statue of another child of Oryx, Norrusk). Also linking enemies to others (Bond Brothers with Taken Primus, Malok and Alak-Hul to Oryx). However it was, for lack of a better word, sloppy in other places, especially year 1. For starters Draksis wearing the Devil colors and was the same model for Riksis. Also, it was very unclear about Aksor's house. He was freed by Winter but wore King colors and was thought to be a Wolf. Choice of bosses for grimoire was also an issue. An example is Mormu, Xol Spawn. I bet most players don't even remember who that is. The information on the card is also fairly useless. It gives no background or any real reason why Mormu was important. Same thing for when you encounter him in game. No special reason to why he is important. Some bosses that have grimoire cards are also not as difficult or have any abilities that are relevant to the information on the card. Example is Primus Sha'aul, the leader of the Blind Legion. He was basically a large centurion that could jump far. A Primus should be much more difficult to defeat than he was. But this isn't just true for year 1. Alak-Hul was able to challenge Oryx and when we faced him, he faded in and out of the dark, walked around, and then swung his axe. Riksis was an Archon that we killed in the 2nd mission. He just walked around with a shrapnel launcher and melee the normal fallen ultra melee if you got close. Other Archon's were strike bosses and even raid bosses. I mean maybe Riksis wasn't a great fighter but you think archons would have better protection given their positions in the Fallen social structure. All I ask is that when implementing bosses, make sure it makes sense to the lore you try and make.

  • Also, I am hoping that in D2, they do bring Legacy content over by building off of old maps (and adding entirely new) and create a small team that goes back thru and updates art asserts and animation for old bosses (especially with Legacy console support gone). During that, I think it would be great to see errors like that corrected. Don't know if that team would really be able to expand boss fight mechanics, but that's something I can compromise on.
