You know when you look up north when you're on the moon and there's the two gigantic plates/rocks ticking out and under those is a bunch of falling rocks and most likely a crack in the moon? What is that? Any theories? Does.... anyone know?
-
It's the aftermath of the Hive hollowing out the Moon's interior. Residue from their mining and energy from their rituals pushes up against the Moon's surface until it creates cracks and fissures in the ground, releasing those gaseous clouds that you see rising from that opening in the north you mentioned

It's where Atari hid the ET cartridges
-
I'm so sorry that you had to deal with all these...unpleasant jokes...and only got a few actual answers
-
There are multiple possibilities. The most valid is the Hive infestation on the moon, hollowing out its insides, and thus getting to the crack.
-
The moon got Hives and swelled up to twice his normal size. Then his pants ripped. The Traveler can't look at it anymore, and that's why you can't see the Traveler from the moon.
-
I've always been fascinated by that to be honest, it's visually satisfying
-
I thought you were talking about the real moon, the one in real life. I go outside too much...
-
Crota, but it's cool dude I killed him.
-
Bungie were modelling the full moon for the vanilla release, but left that piece out to be sold later as "content" for future dlc
-
It's from when Chairface Chippendale tried carving his name in the moon. It said CHA. Later as the hive took over the moon, the C broke apart then it only said HA.
-
It's Bungie Studios spilling into two teams.. One that cares about the community One that doesn't
-
The real question is; If the moon were made of spare ribs, would you eat it?
-
Why can't you see the traveler on earth from the Moon?

The plothole

Butt crack?
-
I always assumed it was from the hive tunneling under the surface. Believe it!
-
Crota whacked the moon with his sword and ripped the moon's pants
-
Because of the Hive
-
I assume the construction of the Hellmouth left a scar on the Moon, and the gaping hole is that scar. You can see it from Earth too.
-
That crack in the moon is where all the crap is coming from.

Edited by TheLegs41: 11/25/2016 4:17:40 AMI'm glad I'm not the first one to make a joke about butt cracks.
the moon had Taco Bell
Or the moon has an STD
Because of the Hives?
