Speculation on SIVA and the Darkness

This is a post that may have already been done but I just wanted to throw some things out for everyone to ponder on. We know that Siva is Golden age techology designed for space colonization. What intrigues me is that, as we know, Rasputin originally controlled it and also the Warmind Malahayati had some involvement with SIVA also. Im Ghost Fragment: Ghosts 2 we see that the SIVA infected ghost is (or at least presumably) spouting the typical SIVA directives but its not properly working likely due to the Light. "I'm great! Something got in me but the Light ~if (LIGHT) then WARNING~ burned it away. Its gone forever, now! ~consume:FAILURE replicate:FAILURE enhance:FAILURE~" That line has been so interesting to me because it shows that SIVA cannot fully carry out its directive on a Ghost yet it says "if (LIGHT) then WARNING" which suggests that the operator of SIVA is opposed to the Light. Rasputin typically referred to it as (O) energy and I doubt the Fallen at the time would beware the Travelers Light being that they want it back. Also the Fallen weren't even aware of SIVA at the time of this card. The operator of SIVA, whoever that may truly be, seems to have an opposition to the Light. The Fallen seem to have been used as pawns in something much bigger than they understand. In the new grimoire cards the SIVA enhances Aksis but the cards tell how the new body moves but it is not his own will controlling it entirely. I have been under the impression that the Hive are the key to unleashing a much larger force upon the Traveler and universe than even they realize. The Vex simulated the ascendant throne spaces in the VoG. They went on to worship the Black Heart which is obvioulsy tied to the Deep/Darkness. The Cabal have been researching ways to perma kill Guadians by trying to learn how the Hive do it. The Fallen, mainly Taniks, went on a mission to "steal the dark" which I'm not entirely sure what that means but it seems it had something to do with the Hive as his mission was on Luna. The new Devil Splicers were conducting experiments on the Hive. This has been dismissed as just a means to assemble an army but they wouldn't need the Hive to do this. SIVA could already create things and take control of whatever was needed. Kovik experimenting on the Hive could have been an incidental set of experiments or anither attempt at some unknown player in this ordeal trying to control the Darkness or its direct agents.

  • It might not be that Siva opposes the light. Maybe it's just like the Vex. The Vex have the ability to simulate and predict their foes, but Osiris thinks that they cannot predict guardians because the light grants us "impossible" or "illegal" abilities. Would technology be able to consume, enhance, and replicate a force they do not understand? Sure, the Iron Lords got Siva-fied, but possible it only happened after their ghosts where damaged/destroyed/killed.
