Bungie: "Look at all these cool new things!
... but you only get 3 chances to get half of them, unless you buy silver.
Hell, some people have paid $60 and STILL didn't get what they want.
Why? BECAUSE -blam!- YOU customer, that's why! "
Now cue the fanboys to rush in to defend bungie.

Ultimately it's entitled twats that feel like everything should be theirs for free that are crying the loudest: they want the content but aren't willing to pay for it. RNG sucks but micro transactions and loot drops are hardly new, and it's a business trying to make money. Here's the thing, in life if you want something, you gotta pay for it. There's no reason in game purchases should be any different. Bungie owes you nothing people

I've periodically advocated for Bungie in the past. I even said that I at least understood why they abandoned my console, even though it's locked me out of some of the best aspects of the game. However, they get no sympathy from me here. Coercing people to pay real money in what was essentially a game of chance is absolutely deplorable. It belongs in online casinos, not here. If you, dear player, have any sense at all, you will refuse to spend even one piece of silver on ANYTHING, unless you know EXACTLY what you are getting. If you want to play $2 or $5 for a flaming wolf mask, well... I don't blame you. But the microtransaction menu should say Flaming Wolf Mask - 200 pc. Silver or something of the sort.

It is a choice to pay for it tho so choose whether you want to buy the s#it or not

Honestly, this is what free to play games do not Xbox, big named games produced by a developer that use to be honest and reliable. GTFO with these little scams, if you don't want people to be upset or feel betrayed take the RNG out of it. Putting really low chances to get items you pay for is really low. Dickish low.

But know what your spending your silver on.

Spent $20 for the treasure boxes only to get dragons bane. I recently read that the bad juju ornaments will go right into radiant treasure boxes when FOTL is done. I feel really silly now. I feel sorta taken. As a customer and a consumer , why do I feel like I was supporting bungie but at the same time feeling tricked. Trick or treat right?

Edited by Sijray21: 10/27/2016 5:17:29 PMAs the proverb goes... "A foole and [their] money [are] soone parted." ~ Dr. John Bridges' Defence of the Government of the Church of England, 1587 Derived from a poem called Five Hundred Points of Good Husbandry by Thomas Tusser, 1557

Could care less if they are that big of a deal for you delete a character and do the quest again for another box.
-
I like how you put microtransactions in parenthesis as if nobody knew what you were getting at with "Festival of the Cost".
-
Yeah, it feels 2 steps back from last years event, and last year was another excuse to bust out the RNG micro transactions. Since Eververse has released, its got more and more stuff to sell, cause more people are buying it. The more resources that they put into this micro trans crap, the less DLC content players receive. Also in other mobile F2P games the stats are 8-15% of the player base actually buys thing in game. 3% of those players are responsible for the 98% of the entire sales.
-
Ah yeah, another circle jerk thread!
-
Festival of the fleecing
-
As long as there are people buying, there will always be those selling.
-
Im not mad about spending my own money and not getting what I wanted because I know that its rng and accepted it. However I am annoyed that its a two week event and theres only a 30 min quest line that grants 1 treasure per character.
-
Dude, I spent $1,500 on another game ($1 per pack), and didn't get what I wanted. Welcome to chance packs. Am I complaining? No. I knew, and still know that there is no guarantee.
-
There is a difference between being a fanboy and calling you a whiny bitch...
-
Yawn, microtransactions make money so of course Bungie will implement them. You want to blame someone talk to Rockstar- everyone now wants to copy their model.
-
I haven't spent anything, seems like it's free to me.
-
That's right folks, it is that magical time of year when people bitch about micro transactions. Can't wait for the December event to roll around.
-
So its bungies fault alone (not the individual person) that someone CHOSE to spend money on microtransactions for a certain thing, and then they not get it? So no personal accountability what so ever?
-
Is the community ever going to hold the players accountable & stop criticizing Bungie for profiting off of morons?
-
Credit to user Domwompy for the brilliant name! Festival of the Cost

Simple keep your money. Not that difficult.
