Destiny (story) (long and amateur)

The enemy hordes are amassing to destroy yet another town. This would be the third loss in a week, the enemy is growing bolder, more organized than we ever thought possible. As nightfall aproaches, the fields outside of town glow with the familiar and haunting greens and blues that is the hive. Sirens go off, warning the townspeople that an attack is imminent forcing them all to run for the refurbished golden age bomb shelter and hope that it stands firm as the hive advance. The swift moving thralls are first, followed closely by knights, lined up to shield any threats. As the main forces reach the town, burning and destroying all the people held dear, a new sound is heard and a blue glow begins to appear in the sky. The lookouts in the shelter begin to issue orders to the people to lock and shore up the doors, regardless of any stragglers outside. Meanwhile, outside, a thrall smells a young child hiding in debris and starts to search for him. Frantically, it starts grabbing and tossing debris, moving ever closer to the young child clutching his stuffed ghost, when suddenly the thrall desintigrates, leaving not even a trace of it's existence behind. The child sees the flash and peaks out, hoping that it is safe. Suddenly, noticing something in the distance, he smiles and starts crying with relief as the red glare gives away the hunter sniper in the distance, and he waves to the Guardian, tears carving chasms on his dusty cheeks. The perspective then shifts to that of the hunter, who radio's in to his fellow guardians that he is picking up a straggler. As he hops unto his sparrow, the camera pans to the sky where small lights can be seen moving. Then Zavala gives the command, "You are engage the hostiles, but make sure to protect any civilians you come across." Titans begin to drop from sub orbital heights, smashing the forces closest to town while hunters pick off the elites from a distance, keeping and eye out for any more civilians, and warlocks act as long range artillery, launching nova bombs into the middle of the enemy army before moving to secure the town alongside the defenders and voidwalkers already taking key defensive positions. The hive, recovering from the shock of the strikers, and hunters, sends in its ultras. Giant ogres, creatures of pure rage, tortured until they learn to hate all with a wrath equal only to the suffocating darkness and barely conscious of their allies storm the fronts alongside the wizards that held them in chains, pushing back. With the titans suddenly on the defensive and the enemy gaining ground, our lone hunter from before returns with warlock support and shows himself in a flash of flame, taking down two of the ogres, allowing our titans a chance to recover while he and his team continue to hold back the flood of enemies. Seeing that the situation is not improving, Zavala issues the command for reinforcements, sending in the remaining guardians he has. As the sky lights up again with the familiar blue glow the guardians on the ground receive the news that their support is inbound and to remain defensive until they arrive. Defender titans rush forward to create a wall, and warlocks support them in close quarters as they do so, while hunters remain afar using snipers and scout rifles. The familiar purple glow of the Defender's Wards of Dawn light of the battlefield, giving the hive pause while it assesses the new obstacle. Then, with a flash of blue light, the reinforcements arrive. Titans, hunters, and warlocks all rush out from behind the wall of light and the familiar clang of metal fills the air with the smell of ozone and soot as the sunbreakers, bladedancers, and stormcallers all rush the enemy, decimating their numbers in a matter of minutes. As the enemy flees the from the light of the guardians, the sun begins to shine over the mountains to the east. Slowly the battlefield is revealed, the charred remains of crops and craters from the titans and warlocks dotting the fields, there were few casualties and fewer still due to the tower's intervention. The town however, is still ruined. Charred skeletons of houses remain were once there were homes and families. Zavala calls back the main force as the townsfolk leave their beaten shelter, shaken, but unharmed. As they start the clean up efforts, a distraught young couple exits long after the rest of the civilians, and slowly walk to their old home only to collapse to their knees instead of attempt to salvage anything that had been left behind. Our lone hunter hunter reappears, slowly approaching from behind them with his mask off. Even as an exo, it is plain on his face he is worried for the couple as he quietly introduces himself, and asks what is the matter. After a brief conversation the exo's eyes reveal surprise and a faint smile tips his hand but the couple doesnt notice. He walks away only to return moments later with the child, and his stuffed ghost, to return to his parents. The exo's heart softened as he watched the family reunite in a frenzy of tears, kisses, and hugs, and he reaches into his bag for something to give to the child. When his hand clasps the smooth metal objeft he was looking for, he calls the child over and presents his gift. A small silver replica of a ghost, a good luck charm if you will, that he had bought during the last festival of the lost. Cayde's voice is heard over the radio calling all hunters back to the tower. After giving his gift to the child, now beaming with delight at his newfound friend and charm, he bids farewell to the family and summons his ghost for transport. As his ship flies in to retriv the lone hunter, the child runs up and hugs him around the legs, thanking him for the present and for everything he has done for the world. Nearly on the verge of tears, or the equivalent that exo's can experience, he pats the child's head tell him one final thing before he warps to his ship, "Listen, I may be a Guardian, but everyone can be a hero. Help others, keep them safe and do your part to make this world ours again. Don't be selfish, be generous. And never lose hope, because our light is meaningless without you, and your will to survive." With his final farewell finished the hunter warps to his ship and jumps out into orbit, leaving behind a message that our young hero will spread to the people of his town.
