anyone else getting same weapon over and over from faction pkg?
Since RoI has launched, I've picked up 7 or 8 Devil You Know's. A buddy of mine got the NM hand cannon at least 5 times, and the scout from FWC multiple times as well. And just in party I frequently hear people say "not another......" (fill in weapon). As a matter of fact, when I think about it, the vast majority of weapons I've gotten are Devil You Know, Swarm, Comedian and Shadow Price. I'm guessing I've had those 4 guns about 90% of the time from Vanguard pkg. (I don't know what Crucible factions would be because I take armor from them).
Of all the possible guns in the rotation, there is no way you can tell me that "rng" has been so precise. It is my belief that certain accounts are somehow predetermined to get certain guns. It's so bad that when I go to pick up a Vanguard pkg, I'm expecting a Devil You Know.
I just wanted to see if other people are having the same experience, because if my theory is true, something needs done about it.

Yep. All I want is the NM Scout Rifle. I've leveled NM more than 15 times, I've gotten the SMG and Shotgun MULTIPLE times, but the Scout Rifle? Zero. It's ridiculous.

Yes 4x in a row I've gotten the warpath from FWC. I'm pretty sure the game is glitched ,or something else is terribly wrong

Crytarch legendary weapon engrams are the worst by far. Same old recycled guns with little variety. Literally just infusion material or legendary marks these days.

Agreed. Sidearm and ghost every FWC Package. First Citizen from New Monarchy and Boots+Cloaks every armor package. Although Vanguard and Crucible have kept their packages roughly balanced.

1 ReplyHi Bungie, I'm going to give you honest feedback. Right off the cuff and as straight as I can put it. Here is hard evidence from your community. It's almost a 3:1 ratio in the vote that people are repeatedly getting the same weapon over and over from their faction packages. One dude said he's gotten the DO shotgun like 10 times. I do not know if this was intentional, some sort of kick in the pants you've put in to say "we've made packages easier to obtain! (but what we are not telling you is they are going to pretty much be worthless)", or it's designed to keep us from always picking the same type of package. Regardless, it's [b][i]NOT[/i][/b] rng. No way that out of over 3000 people that voted on this issue, rng is being repetitive nearly 3/4 of the time. That's not rng. In no data set in the history of any scientific method has "random" produced a 72% chance of a predictable result. I hope what has actually happened is there[i] is[/i] something unintended, and there [i]is[/i] something that has gone wrong, because 1. it means it can be fixed, and 2. it means you haven't played some kind of inside joke, the kind that really isn't funny, except to the people who get it, and their sense of humor usually sucks anyway. I never expected to get 3100 votes when I posted the poll, and I want to really thank this amazing community that plays this game (because this community is yin to the game's yang that makes everything work symbiotically). I digress. The results have brought to light there is an issue going on here. This is a loot based game. Most of us who are every day players are usually keeping their rep in the side of their mind, and always working towards some kind of package as a secondary function of their primary activity; if not actually working toward the package itself by doing something specific to build that respective faction. To have a situation where the results of that primary or secondary activity are thwarted by a repetitive reward because of either a bug, or something intentionally placed inside the game, really takes a lot of the fun and anticipation of getting those packages. Either way, the evidence is now out there. And something needs to be done about it. It is my sincere hope that someone at Bungie noticed this post/poll and the results of which will merit consideration and necessitate a change.

I've noticed a trend when it comes to faction packages. Weapons tend to be higher chance of what you use most. If you use scouts, fusions, and rocket launchers, those are what you get most. I rarely use side arms and I rarely get side arms. When it's armor, the armors you use most to upgrade at the ones you get more of. So if you used 10 boots to upgrade your boots, and only 3/4 chests to upgrade, you'll get more boots. I've seen this across multiple accounts that I've played on my friends or hearing from my friends.

4 FWC packages and 2 vanguard = 6 chest pieces and 6 ghost shells. How much money do you need to throw at said screen for a fricken helmet?!?!

I got the fwc pulse with perfect balance, counterbalance and snapshot twice in a row. I didn't complain because it's a very decent roll but still the odds of that have got to be insane, but it happened! It is surprising how often things like this happen.

If it's not the same weapon over and over, it's the same perks. Look, I KNOW I suck and must get revived all the time but even so I still can't get much use out of Exhumed, and Destiny seems to think that's my signature perk. I think I got it on a rocket launcher, for Christ's sake. Surprised my swords don't have it.

Well, I wouldn't mind if it kept giving me the Waltz so I'd have a shot at a decent one. Keeps giving me the scout though. So yes and no, I don't want repeats of guns I don't want, but wouldn't mind getting repeats on a gun I *do* want.

4 of my last 5 packages have been TDYK, and not one that's usable.

I've read in the Forum that if you always choose the same package type (i.e. Weapons) you ghet somewhat penalized. Not sure if it is true. I make the point of always alternate weapons/armor and so far my only complain is on the light level but that is part of the new system so it sucks anyway.

Pretty sure the packages are weighted in favor of the y1 guns that returned in April. Drives me nuts. I've only gotten like 2 or 3 new guns to drop from packages.
