Here's how a Q&A with the nerf squad should go: Me: "Please explain why nerfs aren't entirely separate between PvP and PvE." Bunghole Dev: "We really want your weapons to feel the same regardless of the game mode you are playing." Me: "You realize that sounds -blam!-ing stupid, right?" Bunghole Dev: "What? Why?" Me: "Because you keep rotating metas, for one. Players are constantly relearning how weapons works. Also, how much ammo we carry in reserve or in the mag has no bearing on how a weapon "feels." It's also a lazy bullshit cop out because you're taking "frustrating encounters" in one game mode and making changes across the board. When was the last time a Vandal complained about Mida or shoulder charge or Warlock grenades? Oh, right. Never." Bunghole Dev: "But, see, we want to reach a balance whereby all weapons are viable and players aren't pigeonholed into a small selection of weapons." Me: "No. That's stupid and you're stupid for spewing that bullshit. That's taking micromanaging to a whole new level. Players should be using what they want, when they want, and how they want. Also, there are too many combinations of perks on the weapons to ever make "balance" a true option. Even if you tweaked every weapon to have the exact same Time To Kill, certain perks could/would still give players an advantage. Also, what kind of asshole nerfs an entire class of weapons because of one or two "OP" weapons?" Bunghole Dev: "Well, our research shows us that even though certain weapons rise to the top, it's not that specific weapon but how the weapon class is designed that makes it necessary to reexamine the class as a whole." Me: "You just disappeared up your own asshole, you know that?" Bunghole Dev: "We really like spreadsheets and research. We don't put much credence into anything "anecdotal" that the players pass along." Me: "You are literally too stupid to continue talking to. I hope someone punches you in the nuts. I hope someone stole your lunch out of the fridge at work. I hope you get a very bad hangnail." Bunghole Dev: Thanks for taking the time to talk to me." Me: "Go -blam!- yourself."

you guys want these nerfs in all, like do you just want nothing to kill in this game, you want everyone to be a bullet sponge? Everyone cries all these nerfs and look what happened, pvp is so slow, TTK is super high. Special weapons are only good because primaries were nerfed to shit, there is no primary that can kill in less than a second anymore its atleast more than a sec which is horrible when someone rushes you with a shotgun. Bungie will do nothing about this problem.

Sure nerf it again so when you are using it against any enemy that has a one melee kill can kill ya. PvP nerf babies always only think about PvP and don't take in any consideration how shotguns have been -blam!-ed with more then enough. That's because Bungie doesn't want to separate the balance to cut corners. Shotguns don't ever need to be nerfed again.

Your right. Rang is stupid. Stupidly to far mainly on the high impact type. You can run right at other players while they blast you in the head with there primary with no fear. Drop the range or buff primary's to make closing that gap a little more risky. That way you have think and plan not just run, slide, pull trigger, jump, then repeat.

To everyone complaining about shotguns I'm guessing you never played in year 1 and experienced the MASSIVE pain in the ass known as the Felwinter's Lie. Seriously shotguns are fine. Just learn how to counter them instead of bitching about them and we'll all be fine. Also, nerf shotguns and we go back to the camping with sniper/MIDA meta. Seriously the most boring and WORST period in this game.

Shotguns don't need nerfed, other guns need buffed.

Shotguns need a monster need because they have killed every single other weapon and shotguns are still a no skill one shot kill weapon. I use shotguns as much as possible in crucible because it's so easy to kill people with plain and simple. And if it's just stupid easy and takes no skills there's a reason aka they are op

yeah well some shotguns still seam to have sniper range. And some people still do the macro slide with the shotgun to bypass over shields and such. But its not half as bad as the hacks people use.....like aimbot lets you shoot at any range or punch any range and kill people.....they have yet to ban those people......its like they should be able to figure it out...the xbox actualy stores the data for every game.....just how stupid can their metrics be that they cant figure out that someone killed 5 people with a shot gun from across the map.

If people are dying because they get "outplayed" then it's balanced perfectly.

It is even sadder that they have been nerfed 9 times and are still the best weapons in the game.
