Just picked up barons ambition heavy machine gun and the flavor text says:
"To crack open that depraved earth-servitor. To use its secrets to reclaim the Great Machine..."
-translated from fallen language.
What interested me was how it seems to state the earth-servitor and great machine as separate things. Haven't had much time to think on it but I'm throwing out there anyway cuz why not. I'll add my thoughts later but knowing the destiny community, someone has already probably solved this riddle.
I'd add a picture but I have no idea how.

The earth-Servitor is most likely Rasputin, and the only ever refer to the Traveler as the Great Machine
-
I think k earth servitor is Rasputin and great machine is siva. That's how Interpret it anyways
-
Earth Servitor is most likely Rasputin, Great Machine is the traveler. They most likely found the secrets to SIVA when they cracked open Rasputin. And that's the secret they found to reclaim the traveler.
-
The Depraved Earth-Servitor that is being mentioned is more than likely Rasputin, since the Great Machine is the Traveler.
-
The "Earth-Servitor" is Rasputin and the "Great Machine" is the Traveler. We know the second is true because it is referenced in other grim cards. The first is most likely true since the gun was found in the S.A.B.E.R.-2 strike. Rasputin probably has info on humanity and Guardians that would help the Fallen kill us
-
could be two things: the earth servitor being the WotM entrance and the Great Machine being SIVA the earth servitor being Rasputin and the Great Machine being the Traveller seeing as you get Barons Ambition from the Fallen Saber strike (if Im not mistaken), I would have to assume its the second one.
-
We know the "Earth Servitor" is Rasputin, as it's the only thing that can match a servitor's property or at least is the closest. The Great Machine is the Traveler, we know that because of the "Doom of Chelchis" scout which was from KF. Chelchis was a Fallen Kell, and the Whirlwind is when the Traveler left, leaving the Fallen, including Chelchis, in shock. Fallen were probably trying to get to Rasputin as it would give them a huge advantage and would make reclaiming the Traveler significantly easier.
-
Traveler= great machine Rasputin=earth servitor
-
You see the traveller is the great machine he used to help out the fallen then he switched to the guardians. he must not be trusted
-
Earth Servitor is the one at the start of the raid. Great Machine is the traveler.
-
If Rasputin (The depraved earth-servitor) can cripple the traveller (Great Machine) then it can also help them reclaim it... in their logic anyways.
-
Pretty sure that the ghosts are the "Earth servitor" and the Traveler is the great machine, which is all but confirmed.
-
Earth servitor is Rasputin and obviously the great machine is the traveler
-
Earth servitor is the thing you jump into for the WoTM raid and the machine is aksis and/or Siva.
-
Who cares we destroy fallen constantly.
-
That Earth-Servitor and its secrets may be Rasputin. Technology? Yes. Many secrets? Probably. Spherical? No. Have the Fallen been searching for him to learn stuff? Yes. That's what S.A.B.E.R.-2 was for. 3/4, it's Rasputin.

Edited by Yamanishi1: 10/20/2016 11:40:03 AMI've read a lot of comments referring to Rasputin as the earth-servitor however, I can't see anything that indicate this. I know that seems to be a little crazy imagine that the Traveler could be this "earth-servitor" and the great machine at same time however, what we know about the Traveler when it was at the Eliksni planet? Maybe there is another form or even that little planet could be a kind of vessel for something or as the "Alliance Ark" from the holy bible that represents the presence of God? When we are talking about the Traveler, I think that nothing can be completely discarded.
Anyway... As the Baron's Ambition is a weapon that drops in S.A.B.E.R-2, it's more obviously that they are referring to Rasputin.
-
The Earth Servitor is almost certainly Rasputin. The Fallen tried to use the S.A.B.E.R- 2 to crack him open and get at whatever secrets he's hiding, namely something that would allow the them to more easily lay siege to the Traveler.
-
What got me is 1. Is there a Moon servitor? 2. A Venus servitor? 3.A Mars servitor?
-
I didn't know Rasputin was a servitor! I thought the earth servitor would be Sepiks. I know nothing of lore. Just learned the other day Xur released Skolas. I really wish this stuff was in-game.
-
Do you think it could have been foreshadowing to Rise of Iron? That huge grounded Servitor in the plaguelands could be the "depraved Earth-Servitor." The splicers cracked it open to get to SIVA in an attempt to regain the Traveler's blessings.
-
It refers to the Fallen breaking into Rasputin and attempting to use its weapons to destroy the Guardians.
-
Pretty sure it's Rasputin, just cause you get it in his bunker
-
*Servitor noise of acceptance*
-
I'm not a lore type but my money is on the earth servitor being Rasputin. The great machine is the Traveller
-
I thought this was a SIVA reference
