So we know the Traveler ushered in Earth's Golden Age by increasing human lifespan and terraforming planets. We know the Traveler had done this before. We know that the "Darkness" has chased the traveler across the universe, and the Traveler has left civilization to die every time. We also know the Traveler gave the humans zero warning about what would happen if the Darkness returned. That was a 100% fail on the part of the Traveler. What is the Darkness and how do you fight it? Danged if I know. The Traveler knows. The Traveler could have told humanity about the Darkness from the very beginning. It didn't. Do you know why? Because the Traveler is an interstellar douche bag. Really all it had to do was tell us one thing. "Yo, earthlings, the Darkness is _____ and you can blow it up with ______". I feel like Destiny should be about golden age mech warriors ripping the Darkness a new one. Instead, Destiny is about a species on the brink of extinction at the mercy of irresponsible robots and blue people, all because the greatest being in the galaxy knows about as much about the Destiny story as Bungie does.
