Hey guys, I know I've been shitposting lately, but I did want to take an honest survey, so if you could do me a favor and respond truthfully, I would appreciate it. The poll is anonymous, and I'm not judging anyone who has only reached a certain point.
I feel like people tend to dislike math class a lot. They feel as though that it's boring, and doesn't apply to their life, so I want to see some quantifiable data on this. I realize that many of you are in high school, and if you are unsure of which selection to pick, chose one of the "Algebra" selections.
If you are taking Trigonometry, Geometry, or Pre-Calculus, choose from the "Algebra" selection.
The question is:
What level of math are you taking, and do you like math?
If you dislike math class, please comment and explain why. It doesn't have to be an extravagant explanation, just make sure it's clear enough for me to understand.
Lastly, if you are in a class higher than multi-variable calculus, if you don't mind me asking, what is your major, and how do you like it so far?

Edited by NeverAlfredo: 10/2/2016 8:00:27 PMCurrently taking Cal 2, planning on taking Cal 3 and DE next semester, at which point I will have my Associates and I'll be on my way to get a major in some field of engineering...narrowed it down to Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical. Honestly I don't know which.

I have a question: Calculus wise, my school offers A-B calc, B-C calc, and calc 3. To my knowledge, BC calc is just the AP version of AB. So if both of those count as "calc 1", do you have any idea why my school would jump straight to calculus 3?
-
Hated algebra and pre calc. I like geometry. It's way easier for me to understand. Formulas are cool when you understand them otherwise you might as well be reading hieroglyphics. In short I know the essentials and use a calculator for everything else.

Edited by CDay007: 10/2/2016 7:31:34 PMI'm in pre-calc/trig right now as well as stats and math is definitely my favorite subject.
-
Highest I completed was college level algebra and I -blam!-ing hated it
-
I got up to calc 3 in college and graduated with a math minor. I still enjoy math.
-
I assume prob and stats goes in algebra or lower
-
Highest math I've taken was pre-calc in high school. Haven't had to take any math since then.
-
I don't exactly dislike algebra, but I don't know if I'd say that I like it.
-
I've taken at least two calculus classes, but I don't really remember a lot about them. Last year I took a linear algebra class and next year I should be taking one on differential equations.
-
Highest I could take and I took in high school was AP Calculus AB. It was fun. Gave a challenge, it wasn't the simple "find X" when y=X-2. I could beat those out in seconds. Calculus kept me thinking, and you always felt successful when you solved the problem. I most likely don't remember anything from it either since the way the class was designed it wasn't learning but "cram all you can before the AP test."
-
Don't like it. In high school I tried to take all of the more physical classes.
-
In Precalc. I hate it, even though it has always been one of my best subjects.
-
Currently taking Honors Algebra 2 I hate it
-
Trig/Calc A I like math, always have.
-
Honestly, I hated maths in school. But then when I went into higher education for engineering, maths was probably one of my favourite classes.
-
Single Calc A.B. It's not bad. First test was pretty easy.
-
I'm in Geometry, but math has never been hard for me.
-
Well, I haven't taken a math class since freshman year of college, unless you count Financial Management as a math class (it kind of is, I guess). But, I've taken basic calculus, trigonometry, statistics, geometry, algebra, etc. However, I'm not really a huge fan of math classes. I prefer reading and writing and I'm a history major, so my preferences for very well. I do, however, have a business minor as well.
-
I -blam!-in hated Calculus. Specifically I took Analytical Geometry with Calculus.
-
Literally the least interesting subject in school.
-
Dislike. I've always struggled with math (not in elementary and middle school, obviously). I was always an English/Social Studies person.
-
I chose multi variable calculus even though I've never taken a calculus class. It was the closest that resembled Statics and Strength of Materials Associates, civil engineer technology
-
I'm majoring in both Mathematics and Physics. Right now I'm in Real Analysis, so I guess that should answer the question of how far I've gotten.
-
Dislike, because I have always struggled in my math classes.
-
Could you clarify your meaning by single variable and multi variable calc
