Petition to not play Oct 4th on reset for Bungie to inform us if Destiny 2 is a full reset!
My fellow guardians,
Due to some recent info from reliable sources (kotaku, Forbes, ect) it is rumored that Destiny 2 will be a fresh start. It was 100% stated that your progress will carry throughout Destiny [url=http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/12/07/bungie-wants-player-progress-to-carry-over-to-destiny-sequel?]IGN[/url]
If this rumor is TRUE Bungie needs to let us know. We should be given that new update of info as it is a contradiction of what was said in the beginning.
So I propose a Destiny wide strike on the day Iron Banner is released. This is a sure way to show bungie we mean business!
Character carry over is one thing, but when you get down to it it's the GUNS that make the game. Your character is just a subclass essentially. But we all worked and put hundreds of hours to obtain our gear under the impression we wouldn't lose our hard work come Destiny 2.
So join me in showing Bungie that this is OUR game, WE make the game, WE pay to play, WE want our progress!

While entertaining as your little crusade on iron banner is it will achieve nothing, you aren't hurting them at all by doing it and considering these forums represent only a fraction of the community, you wouldn't be even noticed a little bit by Bungie. Well.. our characters did carry through Destiny.. from start to finish. This is Destiny 2 that's in question. Also, maybe this is just a generation thing.. but when Everquest 2 launched, people that had 5 years invested in their characters had to start over, it's just the nature of the beast, no one threatened to sue SoE (well, for that anyway) no one threatened to sacrifice the first born child of the dev team, or move to the moon or whatever other melodramatic nonsense people are spouting. It's simple, make your new destiny 2 guardian, or stfu and play something else. Those are your only options, should D2 require a new character. Jus sayin.

I actually fear for people's health when they get this torn up over a virtual character. Like shit just make another character that looks like the original. There will be literally no difference between the two, they're both just a bunch of one's and zero's.

I don't give a crap about the guns you grind for. I don't care about the armour set, the shaders, the emblems, ships, sparrows or anything like that I would like the grimoire score to be visible in the new game. I would like not to grind through upgrading all the subclasses (that was a real bitch back in year 1) but if it is a clean start, I'll still play it No I'm not striking

I have 1700 hours into this game, been playing since day 1, since the alpha and beta and shit man I don't wanna have my characters carried over. This game is supposed to go on for 10 years and I don't wanna be playing each new iteration with the same boring ass characters.

Destiny is more than just a number following the title, but an entire universe that has different stories to be told, and with each story - they have their own protagonist and antagonist and there is nothing wrong with them being different from the characters that we are currently. Hell - we could see Bungie making a story arc where we play as one of the alien races that we're currently fighting. Similar to playing as the Arbiter in Halo 2.

If I didn't like wasting time I wouldn't own a games console. Due to your polling options this means that I can not support you. Not only that, I believe that no other gamer can support you either since they also enjoy the employment of time in a profitless and non-practical way. You should have thought a bit more about your poll wording before you started, sorry.

Seriously... I would love a new start completely... If not then it's going to be like DLC and run dry within a 2-4 weeks like every damn DLC... if it's a new game it needs to reset everything

I can understand I don't want to lose my character, subclasses, and gear either. Well legendary can go but I'd like to keep the exotics. I think they should just add A WHOLE LOT of new things on top of having some of the old. For now though we will have to sit and wait on it. They will tell us when they are ready.

6 RepliesI've got 2500 hrs between both consoles, and could care less if the reboot... Video games were designed to waste time, and I would much rather have the resources used to give us new content, and larger maps, which is what seems to be coming in D2... I welcome the reboot, and the fact that they are hiring more dev studios to bring us new content at a much faster rate...
